Everyone has noticed how Trench Wars has a hard time keeping anyone in leadership around for a long period of time. Leaders have so much to deal with between running their stuff, doing whatever work got them into the position, and dealing with people that it takes the fun out of the game.
The one thing that kept me going with staff was knowing it was helping me bring TWDev closer to being what I think 2dragons dreamed it would be. The official development group for Trench Wars, handling all development. Recently, we had a massive overhaul of our structure and I thought I finally achieved that dream but now I've realized it will never be achieved.
"Upper staff" (especially the newer members) have the idea in their heads that they can do whatever they want to and they all individually run the zone. I am really disappointed in the new upper staffers, the power has gone to their heads faster than any I've seen before. I would see someone use super once in a blue moon before, but now it's about the opposite.
I tried playing nice with upper staff, but now I'm tired of daily telling them that they don't control TWDev and with college starting in about 12 hours for me, I don't have the time to do it anymore. About 30 minutes ago, I removed all of my staff access in the game and in the process of getting my forum access removed. If Pure_Luck desires, he can change all the passwords to bots, sysop, phpMyAdmin, twmaps@gmail.com, the bots account for RoboKing's server, and the ftp account I use to access trenchwars.org.
When I first joined staff over a year ago, I didn't think it'd end this way but this just shows that asshats can get the best of all of us.
To all the non-corrupt/power hungry staff out there... good luck.
