Ikrit, you should stay and get all the bad upper staff axed because there are a shit load of moderators who think they are hot shit and I wouldn't mind to see them go either.

LOL who can axe them? I mean, really :P
I'm just a middle-aged, middle-eastern camel herdin' man
I got a 2 bedroom cave here in North Afghanistan
Awhile back when I was still waiting tables for a living we had this meeting, where a long term waiter at the restauraunt I worked at called that we called Super Dave stood up and gave the waiters and the management a speech which I feel is appropriate to compare to the way TW staff is going. The restauraunt had been open for a year at this time, and a few of everyones favorite waiters had just left to persue better jobs, college, etc. At the same time nobody in the restauraunt was having alot of fun, and tips, patrons and the entire restauraunt as a whole was declining. (This was before the movie waiting came out btw) Dave made a long speech about how when the staff stops having fun in the back, they stop having fun at the tables, and when waiters stop having fun at the tables the customers notice it and don't come in as often, and when customers don't come in as often, waiters make less tips, and then the better waiters decide to go to better restauraunts, and it becomes a neverending cycle of the restauraunt becoming worse day after day until they are forced to hire waiters who are horrible who cover the spots of waiters who were good until the management gets sick of dealing with horrible waiters and they leave themselves until the restauraunt eventually dies.
I feel the same thing is going on in Trenchwars, Staff isn't having as much fun on staff which makes the better staffers leave, players also notice this and don't play hosted events as much or don't login as much, which further demoralized staffers from hosting events, in which case staffers stop caring, stop hosting, and eventually leave or get axed from staff for inactivity. Staff is then forced to recruit staffers that they would have never considered hiring a few years back, and then hosting and the zone itself suffers from this. Eventually the older great mods and smods in this zone, or in this case invaluable people like Ikrit get tired of dealing with low quality staffers and decide to leave.
The only way to solve the current problem this zone is having is by overhauling the problem, and starting fresh so to speak. Increase staff communication, encourage fun a little more, Increase staff to player communication, on forums and in game. And do everything you can stop people that are integral to this zones survival from leaving due to being bored and or ignored. Once staff becomes better, players will see this and play more often, that is the only way I can see on how to deal with our current slump.
Meh after four years on staff, and 8 years or so playing this zone I do care alot for it, as sad as that might sound. It would be a shame to see so many peoples countless hours of improvement on this zone disappear to never be seen again because a certain dean won't allow anyone to help him do anything for this zone. How much better would this zone be if we still had Cpt.Guano, Qan, Ikrit, and SuperDave(postal) still here doing stuff?

Reason: -en on been 4 win.
Ok wark, it's no secret I don't like you but seriously, you have to stop talking. The players being recruited for staff have been playing as long as the majority of "veteren staffers" when they were recruited. The problem with current staff is their inability to be creative (something you and your zombie-fest have in common.) The easy way to fix this is to force <ER>'s to host a variety of events, or apply different point values to different events and have the quota change respectivly.
Guano quit because he didn't want to play anymore.
Qan is currently building houses for Katrina victims (I think that's more important than bot dev.)
And SuperDave comes around every so often, does some work, and then becomes inactive again.
So please explain to me how the current condition of staff has anything to do with why these staffers don't play anymore? Oh wait, it doesn't.
You're angry because you wanted all the power that staff could afford to you, and Pure wasn't willing to give it up. So now you run around forums finding some way to blame everything back on upper staff.
So please, do me a favor, quit Subspace.
