Basically what I remember from the hugeass public thread you made in the dev forums your idea promoted basing by not really letting people do anything else, which is what publics are all about. Plus I'm never a huge fan of people who want to solve problems by patching it with some super ultrabot when (imo) they could address the underlying issues in other ways.

Wrong, I suggested an idea which would make people want to base or atleast try to, not force at all.
Im not a huge fan of people who want to solve problems by forcing people to play in a different way they are used to, I actually hate it and its what Moot is doing (by changing the map/shipsettings) while he could adress the underlying issue in other ways.

a lot of players don't go to pub and say 'omg lets get base!!' When i play i just go around shooting people in spawn, doing some roof shots, camping in the middle bar area. however sometimes its fun to get base but lets be realistic. When a new person comes to TW and they go into pub, they wont know what to do. they're just going to shoot everyone near them and not realize how to base or what the base is or what that ball is in the middle of the base.

I totally agree with the first part.
I think what moot is doing is shit. I rather not fuck moot. Actually moot is all about promoting people into basing, so am I, but in a different way. To not get people fool around but have a clear goal and have a competitive gameplay basing needs to be going on in the pub.

the problem is not the settings or the map, this is what made Trench Wars the most popular zone.
The problem is the lack of competition, which can be solved with "just a bot".

You may not have noticed it but the settings have been tweaked over the years... Also, you say that the problem is not with the settings, but you still want to limit the usage of a certain ship? Would that not suggest that there is a problem with the settings?

This is not the year 2000 anymore and because the current situation is what it is, more drastic changes are necessary to keep the game running for another 10 years. Simply patching the public arenas with a bot alone will not accomplish that.
