My Opinion Re: Treatment of Newbs

i don't remember who said this, but it's quite smart.

Because you are not in physical contact with the other players, your can spout your mouth out w/o having to worry about that guy coming in and kicking your teeth down your throat. This is another reason why there are sooo many people shooting eachother at Lan Cafes. They are within arms reach of eachother, and there is no anonymity there.

There's a limit to how far that will go. Fair enough a few odd comments will be acceptable, if their not malicious, but there are people who go way beyond that.

I can see both sides here...i play in elim enough, that i understand the whining, though i limit my own to the occasional"wow, that was lame..."... But i tend to defend those constantly called newb when it gets out of hand. Personally, i cant call anyone a newb, because despite my playing for longer than many, i still absolutely suck. I havnt wasted a few years of my life because im good at this game, i do because i enjoy it, which is hard when all i hear is "newbie" from someone who has played for four months.
I dont really feel like reading through again, but i agree with whoever said that flaming is an ongoing cycle, because the "newbs" (i say that in a nice way, which despite what you might think, it CAN be used that way) see the "Vets" say it, so damn, that must be what "Vets" do!

Anyone who can call a player supposedly lesser than them ANY insult based on their ability is more "newbish" than that particular person, no matter the skill levels or length of play. Being a newbie has absolutely nothing to do with your ability, it is your attitude, and i must say, im ashamed that a bunch of newbs are RUNNING trench wars!

i would suggest not dueling. try basing. though it has become more and more whiney as of late due to the elimers coming into basing games. that or ignoring. works well whenever people pm you spam.

Dont try basing. ?go base is probably the most facist event in TW as the best in the arena gets picked, leaving people in spec to whine, and with more elimers crossing over to base since it went public the whinometer has rocketed. (The only reason I'm saying this is that it's usually aimed at me as they feel I have the power to do something. Let me catagorically state this now: I cannot influence who people pick, I only choose the caps).
