What do u think of the nightwasp

Back on topic.

We tried the nightwasp. Everyone either hated it, or loved it because it was somewhat over powered, which is a bad thing. We decided in the end NOT to keep it.

What do u think of the nightwasp (i think thats what it is called). I know not really a new ship but what are the odds of it being used in pubs anyhow... Just a random thought

The nightwasp, as term, is often used by people -who heard there used to be another ship once- to make them look more elite then they are. They mean to look like they know things from way back, and have such good memories from the time when everything was still cool. There is really no need to bring back that ship over the ones we have now.

It would be nice if there would be a new subspace server/client with unlimited ship entities, for a sysop to create. But it's not very likely to happen.
I don't think the community has skilled and dedicated coders to reprogram the whole game again while we still have things working smoothly.

If you look at the value of Subspace -an outdated game that for some freakish reason is still around-, then yes.
There is really no need to do anything to it than patch it up a little once in a while.

Yeah, by working you mean saying he is and doing nothing. I mean he's actually started to do some coding now I think, or at least selecting ideas to protect against CE/other memory editors.

while we're meandering i'll just say:

store a running instance of the game on the server so you can compare the more vital areas of memory with what is being used by the client's pc. If there are any differences (checking periodically, maybe load it into matchbot to check every 30 seconds during a match) in those vital areas, flag that jerk as a cheater. You don't have to change the game to do that, and I'm sure you have plenty of people on staff who know how to use CE so they'd be the ones to ask about where to look.

And I don't think it would put too much load on the server, since the "checks" can be pulled from the client machine in hex code and in plain text. Checking everyone in TW at once I think would be like downloading a song from itunes. Easy to do with what TW has at their disposal (don't you have an OC4 or something crazy?)

I'm preety sure continuum randomly changes the hex codes for each different thing every so often so the instance on the server is different to each players game. (This is probably to make things such as CE harder to use).
