This should keep the warbird moving, but not be able to tank as it once was.
Also:
- Leviathan multifire widened slightly.
- Spider multifire now allows rapid fire, draining all of your energy quickly but unloading quite a barrage. Beware spiders with multi and super!
- Terr next rank cost upped very slightly (noticed that of all ships, terrs by far had the most over 30)
i mean it takes impossibly long for a warbird to even get enough upgrades to do ANYTHING usefull, but then you remove any incentive to stay in a warbird, its basically a weak version of the spider now, it still doesnt kill everything in one hit, but it has only one shot in a very long period of time, you can only upgrade recharge so much
all i wanted was to be able to make warbird into the normal TW settings, but apparently your making that too hard to be worth the timeRaCka> imagine standing out as a retard on subspace

Honestly the wb was fine the way it was, just because mj is now a jav and cant kill it he doesnt like it, im around a level 30 wb, And trying to save for the l2 bullets + the energy its like 6 ups together, this shows if anything its underpowered, that takes way tooooo long to get.Devest.proboards.com

Not sure if this is a "bug" or whatever, but unfortunate:
When I was playing, I levelled up in warbird and upgraded my guns L2 (yellow). Unfortunately, I didn't upgrade my max energy enough beforehand to be able to fire L2 guns, and consequently after that, I couldn't fire and I couldn't gain any RP. Maybe make it so it won't let you upgrade to the next bullet/bomb level without first having the energy required to use said upgrade.
Also, levelling up is -slightly- too slow.5:royst> i was junior athlete of the year in my school! then i got a girlfriend

To the naysayers of the WB nerf: too little, too late. I received information that the warbird was a bit overpowered, checked it out and found it to be the case. As has been said, it pretty much had everything: strong on defense, strong on offense, and with very good movement capabilities. Now it's about average on defense, above average on offense, and retains its prior movement. Even after the changes I still find it pretty easy to make kills on ships many levels higher than myself. It's a sniper; treat it as such and you'll do well. Maybe you're just not doing it right.

RANK-UP SPEEEED
I'd like to try to work at this again. Here's the fine balance we're trying to establish with rank up speed:
- Keep it fast enough to stay fun for most of the levels.
- Keep it slow enough that: it feels like you're earning something; there aren't a lot of rank 50+ even after a few months of running; wipes don't have to occur too often.
To me from what I've seen it feels like with the beta rate factored in, ranking up occurs too quickly at lower levels, but too slowly in the later levels. Adjusting for the beta rate removal, I'd say that the rate is going to be about right in lower levels, but much too slow in later levels. This is just my instinct, though. I haven't played too many ships in the higher levels, though, generally because 3 people have to complain about X, Y and Z whenever I'm in the arena -- so I don't have a perfect grasp of what it's actually like to just play the game without constantly checking chat. It distorts my sense of time as well. So this is where I need input.
Of the following statements, which do you think is most accurate? (Take into consideration that the rate will be roughly 3 times slower than it presently is on public release.)
A) Ranking up is too fast to give a real sense of accomplishment
B) Ranking up is about right
C) Ranking up is a little too slow to stay fun for very long
D) Ranking up is far too slow and kills all the fun
E) Combination of the above / certain ships are such and such / certain ranks are such and such
Really I wouldn't be against reducing the amount required for all ships in the higher ranks and just having more frequent resets, maybe one every 6 months. But we would definitely be looking at reset potential. This isn't so bad considering you could level one ship up pretty high, and then next reset focus on a different one. Meanwhile the rate at which you ranked would still remain fast enough to keep it interesting.
Also take into consideration that after beta there should be a few more people filtering in and out of the arena, creating a more diverse rank set and generally more havoc to be wreaked.

There are roughly two categories:
- From Levels 0 to 27(?) the leveling seems fine for the most part so B.
- After level 27(?) it is D.
For some ships the level when it gets too slow is different. For a spider, a wb and a lanc the leveling is probably fine until level 30 and for the ships that don't get many kills the leveling is pretty bad even before level 27.
I feel the javelin is pretty much horrible to level all the way through (currently level 28 and it's very slow to level making it quite boring). The levi wasn't that bad to get to level 17 or so but haven't tried it since, so no comment there. The weasel is currently very slow to level as well and even though I am level 32 I feel it shouldn't be THAT slow (1 level takes pretty much an eternity).

jav=overpowered
it can shoot 2 closely fired bombs (with shrap)
has l2 bullets
and can kill a level 30 wb with ease
at least increase the time shot between bombingsDevest.proboards.com

So♠metimes when you spawn and attach to the terr, the bot warps you back to safe/"spawn circle" again.. It's like 1/20 that this happens. Didn't read the whole thread so idk if it was mentioned before.
It also wont let you do !lagout if you get disconnected.
Edit: One more thing also: When you have full in something like speed etc. it says "FULL", but it should say "FULL 7/7" or something. So you know how much a level is worth when you scrap. I mean it's not a big deal if you scrap 1/12 UP, but it is if you scrap 1/3 UP. Get me?Last edited by Emaho; 12-20-2007, 03:23 PM.

If it's 3 times slower, definitely D. That'll make it way too slow I think.
One problem that I see is that it often seems that there's not enough incentive to play terr or shark. Seems like a major problem with a lot of losing teams I'm on is that once the team starts losing people STOP sharking and terring because not only is it more boring but it's also harder to get RP. Once this happens, the team just gets worse and worse.
I was base terr the other day and I was getting maybe 16 RP every couple minutes from profit sharing, but I was performing a necessary function for a team that ended up losing, so I ended up getting nothing for my efforts at all. I don't really have any suggestions for how to fix this other than to figure out a better profit sharing plan. Given that I don't understand how it works in the first place...5:gen> man
