Zei, me and Mango basically have the same setup (he has 1 more than me due to higher level).
But basically we invested in speed / recharge / energy + the L2 bullets.
We cannot shoot continuously - that wasnt what mango meant (referring to your convo as i was present).
To be honest, it was hell trying to kill ships with L2s in spid before (IE: lans/levs) because it took skill aiming (which not a lot of people have except for basers). But now, finally we can make ourselves more useful with L2s, sure we can shoot 3x in a row, but that would put us in a vulnerable position.
The reason i can kill you before is because you missed - else i die first (1 hit KO from L2s), so now that I got L2s, i stand a chance against you. (Before with L1s, we would both shoot bullets, but i die from your L2s while you can shoot a L2 at me, then take a L1 bullet and live... -_- )
Besides, your speed is insane, i have 9 speed but you still go much much faster lol...
But yeh, when i said 2250~ or whatnot, i was referring to your max energy. For spids, our max is probably around 1600 or so... i only have 1490 right now i believe?
PS: I still die in 1 hit to L2s, is it that hard to shoot me? I dont have defense like portals and i dont go that fast... if i get hit, i die - and that was it. lol <_<

im a lev with lv2 bullets, and i have trouble winning against spids with lv1 bullets.
i have -ONE- shot, and if i miss, i die.
maybe it isnt lv2 is too powerful, maybe its just that not many people have invested in max nrg?
because people who have dont die to lv2s
also: dug, u say u want to release dist in a month...
if thats true, u need to put beta back at 5x rp, because how will you know the effects of high leveled ships?
because -one- level 70+ levi would be firing big, shiny, blue prox bombs WITH BLUE SHRAP rather quickly, WITH EMP.
and these high terrs NOW have 5 bursts, which if lucky, can kill -FIFTEEN- people... which has already begun to throw off distension.
also, meddis shark got cloak today.
which i think is a good idea. it gives the shark offensive capabilities.
unfortunately, i also saw terrs with antideath.
antideath is one of the three things that are killing hyperspace.

less cost to upgrade energy like you said pls.
spider lvl 2 bullet isn't that bad really.
and less cost on rotation upgrade. Note how the first upgrade has a bigger % increase in rotation than subsequent (going from 30% to 35% is bigger than going from 40% to 45%). Therefore I suggest the UP cost for rotation to be something like 7-6-5-4-4-3-3-3-3-3-3. I know that you can say all upgrades work like this but rotation is the only one where ppl say "buy 1 or 2, the rest doesn't increase it much".

u havent tried playing against a spider with lvl2 bullets yet, have u..
what i meant by the spiders shooting almost the same amount of lvl2's as they were able to shoot lvl1's before is that spids never seemed to run out of energy with lvl1's and that's fine by me. Now spids dont need to shoot more than those few of lvl2's they can afford to kill everybody around them. Not many ppl have 1500+ energy even when they're at full. Most of the time when a lvl2 bullet hits someone, they die.

I'd like to hear comments about this from other ships than just spiders and myself so please post here if u have something to say.

Oh, L2s do 1500?
That's both good and bad for spiders!
Good because we can finally survive L2 bullets with decent energy upgrades. ^-^
Bad because our L2s will do less damage to levs like Zei with 2000+ energy. <_<
But really, after playing with mango vs Zei on the same team, i can clearly say that Zei has a higher chance of killing mango. :P

Of course, L2 bullets don't just do double the damage of L1 (that we can fortunately edit). This is where the disparity becomes significant. I'm surprised that L2 is remaining so powerful even with a lot of ships in the mid-30's and some even in the mid 40's. By that time I'd like to see most ships (with appropriate energy upgrades) be able to tank L2 at full energy, as this is the only thing that can hope to give L3 any value whatsoever. Granted, some of the energy and recharge UP costs are ridiculously high at the moment, particularly considering that they now yield 50% of what they once did. This will be adjusted before the public release, with the maneuver upgrade costs also increasing very slightly.
At the moment the reason L3 isn't exactly "worth it" is because it costs half again as much as L2 to fire, and for all intents and purposes does roughly the same amount of damage. In the interest of making it more valuable I'm lowering L2 damage to about 1500 -- this was the original number and original intention to begin with, that L2 bullets would be able to kill any "stock" ship (which all have max 1500 energy). If it remains a problem this amount may drop slightly yet again.

yea, i can emp him but he can still shoot 2 lvl2 bullets after that so what's the use?
Just imagine what the fr fights will be like now that the spiders can kill everybody in one hit. They owned the fr fights before with lvl1 bullets. Now they can shoot almost the same amount of lvl2 bullets. Go figure :P

Zei, the thing is, spiders will die to L2 bullets instantly. (Which is what kills me the most - lans and levs)
That means, even if you can only shoot 2 bullets, you'll still kill him in 1 shot. Besides, you can emp him with your bomb and kill him so he cant even recharge.
ANDDD, you get portals to escape while spiders dont have anything. I dont see what's wrong with spiders getting L2s at level 40+ -_-
Oh by the way, L2s cost like 40 UPs... lol

E: and levi can also get lvl3 bullets, do u think they should be more efficient for them as well? or not? why not?
Level 3 bullets are for killing high level ships with huge amount of energy (wbs, levis, terrs). Once the majority of players have 1600 or more of energy u'll see what the lvl3's are for.Last edited by Zeimonster; 02-03-2008, 03:34 PM.
