    I can see that working too if you increase the time enough

    The engine shutdown is definitely not the point of the ability in the slightest (just an afterthought), so I reduced it to 1 second. Originally this ability wasn't going to have the engine shutdown at all! I can put the time up to 20 minutes
    I didn't know that it wasn't going to be part of the original to me it seemed to follow so i never thought about taking it away so when it happened in the test (and no one had said anything on the forums) I was surprised and was just trying to find out why. thats all

    again I am really sorry if I sounded like I didn't accept other peoples opinions.

    IMPORTANT NOTE TO BETA TESTERS

    From today's test onward, any mention of any aspect of the game as "useless," "worthless" or something to a similar effect will result in an immediate and permanent removal from the beta test. There will be no warning. (This of course will not carry over to the public release.)



    Why? Because beta testers that describe something as useless are completely useless as beta testers. I appreciate feedback. That's the whole point of this process. But to say that some ability or other has no worth whatsoever is also of absolutely no use. It doesn't help me in the slightest. And it shows the tester hasn't thought out what they're saying and probably isn't willing to -- all the more reinforcing the very low worth of their haphazardly-formed opinion.

    On the other hand, saying something seems underpowered for reason X or Y is extremely useful. I'd really like to hear more people saying what they avoid buying. Please list anything you think is too costly, requires too high a rank, or just doesn't give or do quite what it should.

    Sorry to be so harsh on this. But saying essentially "this is gay" is infantile and frankly pretty fucking insulting. I'm just sick of it after spending far too much time on this game, and I'm no longer going to put up with mewling little tykes that have absolutely nothing to contribute to this game getting out the door, because, thankfully, I don't have to.

    I won't take ignorance of this notice as an excuse. You're just not welcome in the beta anymore if you can't put on the big girl/big boy pants while you play.


    All that said, thanks to everyone who's put real thought into improving the game. This would be nowhere close to what it is now without your constant help, and it's very much appreciated.

    Statistically that's extremely unlikely. As the super timer (at present) appears underneath the progress bar I'm guessing some of the times you weren't able to see it show up. Try it again today -- I'm upping the percentage chance added per level, and adding in a PM so that you know when you get it. Unfortunately due to the hideous way SS does the super timer, it's always a random amount of time, from 0 seconds (!) to 15. Idiotic. But, that's what we have to live with -- on average it will last 7.5 seconds.

    From a purely stochastic perspective you should have received it 12 times over 40 minutes. If I double the percentage yield, for 3 levels it should be 24 times, or roughly once every 2 minutes. The only tricky part is not being able to know exactly when it will fire ... that particular idiosyncrasy alone should be enough to justify a percentage chance increase, especially when comparing the ability to energy tank. (I would like it to make sense for a player to choose one or the other, and not be forced to choose a single one just because it's clearly better.)

    hmm... in the last test I saw that you decreased how long it effected you. I think at the amount of time it gives is not enough to do anything anymore and as I said above its wasn't overpowered to me just I could tell that at 15 min it would get annoying quick.

    And Fluff's team have like 1 spider while we have like 5. (By the way - i'm actually on Fluff's team to begin with, but i cant switch back cuz of people macro-ing !assist 1 so i just stayed.) -_-

    i had 3 levels of it, so 15% chance in total. lets just say, in the 40 min i had it, i only got it once and i lasted 3 or 4 sec? -_-

    Fortunately it won't require much to do something about it. It would just alter the playing style a little bit.     prj drag: I implemented your idea about streaks not being counted except inside a base. Also made kills outside any base worth 20% less. It might do something. Marked you down for the idea.

    Spiders: Not sure there's a lot I can do. I upped the energy tank recharge rate per level from 15% to 25%; maybe the ability will now become more useful, and spiders can depend on it a bit more, balancing out their otherwise low energy. Does anyone use the super, and if so, how well does it work? Does its rate need to be upped? 5% seems a bit small, though a spider with several levels of it and multifire would be able to devastate an FR.

    I don't think people like Dack are much of an issue...yet. I can see how having several people floating about no-mans-land is a waste of space on your team; however, Dack himself still manages to rake in a reasonable amount of kills in a game. He also causes grief to terrs and players making their way between bases.

    If this becomes more common, and is exercised in a less skillful manner, it may cause balance issues.

    I am pretty much in the same shoe as mango here... except i have multi instead of anti.
    All i can do is rush terr with my multi-fire (low firing delay) and hope for a terr kill.

    Is there any way to make it so rp earned per kill differ when in fr/mid/spawn area, and to have that affect the streak rp somehow? And then during free play, make it so it is all weighted equally.

    Or does that already happen an I am an idiot ? ? ? : (

    Also I like that the terrs just need to be in FR 50% of the time I was just making sure that you wanted that, cause I was concerned that the only terr (as I was in the test ) wouldn't get the bonus going in between bases, and I was going to ask for you to make something to help out the only terr on the team.
