Basing Marathon
Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you all know that there is a Basing Marathon comming up in the next couple weeks. It will be hosted a little differently than what you are probably used to, so I will explain how it will work here.
There will be six (6) bases hosted a day over a span of two weekends. In other words, 6 bases each friday and saturday for two weeks. Each game will be fifteen (15) minutes, most poitns wins, with the standard base hosting procedures (each team has 1 terr, 2 sharks, no levs) and each will use a different basing arena (not set yet, open to suggestion). Here is the part that will most likely be considered a little different than normal basing marathons... For each game, the top three (3) MVPs will be recorded. The MVPs will then be allowed to play in the Marathon finale match which will take place on the following Sunday before TWL. The Finale match will consist of two captains, chosen using the top five (5) or so MVP scores (at the discretion of the referee for game quality purposes). The captains will be allowed to INDUCT a terrier and two (2) sharks that do not necessarily have previous MVP records. For this match, there will only be a certain number of Javelin and Warbird ships allowed (to be set later). The rest of the team will be picked from the remaining MVPs who show up to the game. After the match, a screenshot of all the MVPs in the game will be taken which will be posted somewhere on www.trenchwars.org.
NOTE: All times are in EST AND are subject to change if a reasonable argument or alternative is presented. The schedule is as follows:
Starting on Friday, November 9th, the marathon will begin with the first six bases hosted from 11am-2pm. The next six bases on Saturday, November 10th, will take place 10am to 1pm. The next Friday, November 16th, another six bases will be hosted from 12pm to 3pm. Saturday, November 17th, the six hosted bases will be split with the first three at 10am-12pm, and the second three from 6pm to 7pm. The Finale will take place on Sunday, November 18th, right before TWL at 12pm (noon). This will be hosted in BoKi as it is a zone wide favorite (and a tradition).
Please feel free to make suggestions about any aspect of the marathon. The times and arenas are still questionable. If you think there are better times for the bases to be hosted, please please let me know. I wanted to include as many time zones as I could so that everyone gets a shot at MVP.
