Since aorta was dueling him did he even have a problem with it (like a ?cheater call) because if not it seemed like you were trying to kill a bug with a hand grenade...

With your logic, if someone was, say, energy hacking, and no other players found out and complained, then that must mean the energy hacker didn't do anything wrong, and shouldn't be dealt with by zone staff.

S4j3n has been a previous staff member and to the best of my knowledge has never got banned for either acting dumb/cheating/lagging. Hes an outstanding member of tw. And if we were to use your logic further every player that plays in a euro country would be banned im just pointing out it seems odd for a Bangop to come into an arena and just kill him without any kind of Mod warning. Specially if u too knew s4j3n.

Yes I killed him for an hour because reconnecting was not fixing his severe timer synch problem. Coincidentally there is a bug whereby a *kill command sometimes doesn't expire as it should and kept going up until I removed it after I returned from work. I do not see this as a huge problem because no moderator in any zone in their right mind would allow him to play in such conditions. In all likelyhood, taking such horrible tinfo to another zone and attempting to play may have resulted in him being mistakenly netbanned for speed hacking. At best he would have been allowed to sit in spectator until his issue was resolved, and you can always do that in another zone.

Rudy, people have weird lag problems, i wouldn't expect you to know since you never leave your ship, and 3/4 of the time you are in a private arenas with bots. Figures, get out watch a dd or 2 you may see some weird lag, please don't go banning them all each time you see someone eat cutie. Also there are other ways to solve such problems then *killing someone, especially because you know of this bug that they don't expire correctly, try *speclock, or even saying ANYTHING in staff chat to why you did this. Of course, rudys incompetent brain doesn't allow for more then the solution of banning someone.

He had severe timer synch problems. When reconnecting did not fix the lag, he got *killed for an hour. Seems rather simple IMHO.

Whether or not he lagged in the past is irrelevant. The other factors you raise (former staffer, hasn't acted dumb in the past, hasn't cheated in the past) also appear to be irrelevant in the face of the facts pertaining to this specific matter.

I hadn't been aware of this bug, but my guess is it's a Subgame bug... in which case, probably it can't be fixed...

I was told both players have to agree for the game to be killed. Also that a mod can ask a person to reconnect if their lag is really bad. I don't think they can just !killgame. I have never heard of a mod killing anyone in duel like that.

As someone else said theres bots to regulate lag, and if there was problems the bot wouldnt low him to play. And on top of that, killing without a warning, is pretty fucked. If i got kicked for some random bs that i had NO control over without a warning id be fucking pissed too.

So everytime the server makes someone apear as they are lagging it is now a *kill, like i said, don't go watch twdd's or twjd's people look like they lag enormous amounts, yet they have lag below 100ms without ploss.
