As much as you like/hate current staff, there are definitely some staffers on board who can easily make informed decisions about who should be on staff and who shouldn't, no matter how many times they have had to be dickheads to some people in the zone.

What you're trying to get is more "responsible" choices for staff put forward, but as Da1andonly clearly put it, there are far more douchebags that would outweigh the only possible good that would come out of such a system.

You'd have a popularity contest, there'd be less value to staff reputation as everyone thinks if they are popular enough, play enough TWD, hold TWL titles they will make it on board, and that's not the case.

I agree there are some idle staffers who haven't made much contribution, nor have even made the effort to contribute to zone affairs, it should be these people who aren't making an effort that should be axed, right? Well, it depends what "effort" is to staff. If they have a low tolerance for slackers, I'm quite sure that almost half of the staff members you see wouldn't be staff anymore.

I'm not saying this to be a complete pessimist, but it's true. I'm afraid this really wouldn't work, Every staffer is "doing their bit", but that's about as far as things go, this is how the population is maintained, but it's still on a decrease. TW is just not sensible enough for that nor do I think staff are willing take the extra steps, that's the way it is.

It's a good idea as it's based like democracy in the real world (that works well, right? :P).

Only problem I see that (like already pointed out) is that it will become a popularity contest (just like the real world :P) whilst not doing any good to the zone.
The one with the biggest mouth saying the best things will get a place among staff. He will have so many responsibilities he will be voted out again in a short time because he can't ever complete everything he said he will take on.

Also, it's already been said, does the average player (read: player that isn't on the forum but only wants to have a fun time) really wants to be bothered with choosing who can be staff from candidates he doesn't even know? Remember, this is an online 2D space game without a daily newspaper and television to brainwash you :P.

Seriously, we as staff already have so much to do (well, at least some of us) that we really can't be bothered with campaigning to keep our staff position. Secondly, (most of us) have a social life aswell haha


If you think someone shouldn't be staff or you have someone who you think would make a good candidate (apart from yourself ofcourse), contact one of our deans or our public relations officer.

firstly i don't hate rudy but i don't paricularly like him either and that's between me and him and enflame had nothing to do with it so why he got involved dunno, this was just a thought about the current system as cops said

there are people on staff that associate with general players pretty well but i'm just saying there could be people who are more active. need quality people to sustain the decreasing levels of population.

The guy had a (somewhat, if flawed) decent idea beside his rantings about how bad rudy and left_eye are. Staff isn't a popularity contest, but as far as getting things done it should be. Staff that do nothing should not be staff. This game needs quality people far more now then it ever did years ago. Our population is decreasing, whereas it used to increase consistantly years past. it's not a democracy, there's not enough public interest to make it one either. The people who run this zone are entrusted with a lot of power and responsibly to basically make sure that we can all play spaceships, and seriously there's enough douchebags out there that would get staff based on popularity. It's not about making alliances or making friends (if you want to that's cool) but if you want to make staff more political then it already is then try it but I think the general player comes to this game to escape the bullshit realities of real life, even if it's for a little while.

left_eye is a cunt bag and Goddess is a douchebag for calling the police but seriously staff isn't terribly bad, there's just bad people on staff but hasn't that always been the case? That thread's dead, and this one needs to be as well.

First of all Rudy has been a "Great" staff member in my opinion. So STFU with your bullshit. Try getting a life and not letting this game be your only communication with the outside world. I don't know much about Left_Eye but he/she does a good job.


I have my reservations about some staff members like Kim, Aquatiq, and Stargazer, however I realize that what they do is on a volunteer basis. So, when I think my life sucks, I realize that people are worse off then me. Being a Staff member is the only thing those previously mentioned people have going on in life. So please take my backhanded compliment.

You can't look at staff to be perfect. They're just people like you and me. We all fuck up, they fuck up. So lets be thankful that this game is free and people volunteer their time.
