Little weasels negate the fact that base only has one entrance. It offers 10 entrances to the flag room, alone. It kills the basic base experience, in both pure pubs and non-pure pubs. If you're new and trying to get good with a spider or something, it's gonna piss you off when you keep getting killed by someone you can't even see. They might, then, change ships, or stop playing out of frustration leading to them quitting the game. Eventually, there would be nothing left but cloakers in pubs, all invisible to each other like a giant game of ?go cloaks, but without any spec tasks or objectives. No one will uncloak and it slowly diminish to just a few cloakers flying around invisible and not shooting, until there are only bots left. That is when Priit realises this game is finally dead and stops paying for the server. Small weasles are the downfall of this game.

Not really, but in my opinion, the first part of that was true. I miss the days when there wasn't even the ability to change ship prox.

To be honest, the small weasel could own the large weasel in a duel of similarly skilled players because the big weasel sucks so much. the idea may be to cloak people but as this is so much effort and getting kills takes ages AND every single person hunts you down when you decloak for a second it takes complete fun out of the ship so people seek different ships.

In the small weasel you could do james bond manouvers and amaze yourself while playing and enjoy using cloak sporadically and smartly as it only lasted a short while.

The small weasel was sooo underpowered which is why very skilled players used it because you had to use trickery to defeat a hard enemy such as a lanc with x radar and terrs. If you have a couple of good javs (also with xradar) in fr weasels wont get anywhere near the flag, sharks (can have xradar) repel the x's already slow moving bullets away and after that what hope does the x have?, a lanc (also has x radar) is an impossibility in small spaces firing 3 times per full energy in fast yellow streams of death, terrs (also with x radar) have bursts which can deal with a slow moving and thrusting x quite easily and even spiders with randoms sprays....... levi's with massive splash bomb which hurts weasels very short energy supply, aswell as avoiding other x's that have low energy costs for xradar.

The odds were really stacked against the poor little fellow so i fail to see the problem, you all just suck at dealing with them change ship and own the little things it's not hard.

I was undecieded when I began reading this thread. To be honest I was leaning toward keeping the big X. After reading all the posts including Andy's superb addition to the topic, I've come to the conclusion that I didn't like the small x for selfish reasons.

Since I am most often a levi, I've noticed fewer ppl cloak killing levs. This is good for my game play!

However, I do miss zipping around in an uncloaked small x and "WEASELING" my way into base to cause havoc for the opposing team. Also, it was equally fun you make a priv. freq with weasels, usually 2-4 of us. And with no terrier, attack the hell out of the fr.

Bring back the little x! It's the most unique ship in the game

No offense dads, but those screenshots of yours hardly depict commonplace occurrences in TW public arenas back when small Weasels were around. There were usually at most a few Weasels per team.

SO FAR,

there's been VERY FEW people who have said that they like the large X in general. Most that have stated they like the large X over the small x, also have mentioned that they dislike the ship to begin with. This isn't a debate over whether or not to only have 7 ships, it's a debate as to which ship is better for the game, the X or the x.


THE ONLY WAY THE LITTLE X IS MORE "POWERFUL" is that it can go through holes, and occasionally dodge a shot that would otherwise kill it.


THE SEVERAL WAYS THE LARGE X IS MORE "POWERFUL" are that it can cloak indefinately, it cannot police itself with xradar, it can repel mines (allowing it into fr, akin to being small and going through holes), and it can rocket your ass.

this shouldn't even have to be debated, bring back the ship the way it was before. you don't see people clamouring for 1-hit kill lancs do you?

1. Tell us how frequent this happen. What does it prove anyway? Small x being overpowered? Everyone use warbirds, is warbird overpowered? No. In a ?go base game, 60% of ship played are spiders, is spider overpowered? No.

The only thing the screenshot can prove is that there are quite a number of people who love the small weasel, so much that they would start a weasel party for the fun of it.

The majority of time, only 1 or 2 people per arena would hop in weasel. Such rare incident as shown in the screenshot just can't show us the real picture. Attempting to distort the truth isn't helping anyone.

2. Who can really have a say on how pub should look like? Okay, the developer maybe. But still, it's always up to the player to play within the rules of the game as they see fit. It's entirely OK to spawn, It's entirely OK to LT, it's entirely OK to spider turret, it's entirely OK to camp safe. So what's wrong with mass cloaker, then? What's wrong with all that I've mentioned, which are all deviations from the Major aspect of the zone, basing, and the minor dueling aspect?

Games are meant to be fun. This screenshot is suggesting that people are having fun with weasel - why would people play with a toy which is not fun? I see the transition from big weasel to small weasel as an improvement, increasing the "fun value" of the game. By taking out the small weasel, you took out part of the fun... Do you think that is good to the game?

As said in my previous post, the small weasel is a fine ship, a major step forward with regards to ship 6, and to TW as a whole. I've yet to see anyone trying to explain why the small weasel is NOT fine... Please tell me, if you believe I'm wrong, which part is flawed in my reasoning.

Please, those who think small weasel is overpowered, tell everyone how you managed to kill me - if your answer is "because Andy H.K. sucks" then please, too, tell everyone.... how I managed to beat you.

but i vote for X. use the same holes as us. being unique doesn't make u useful.

Well this version of Nightwasp pretty much obliterates any form of pure public, would be much better if it just had emp bombs and level 1/2 bullets but that will probably never happen, so stick with the big Weasel and shadap.
