Not sure a lot of people even would fear the punishment anyway just because it's a game, so I agree with you, rewards are more enticing.

reward wise, what can really be offered as an award? your name in a thread? your name in a newsfeed on tw.org? your name in news.txt in tw? a special color name on twd site? Nothing too rewarding to stop someone from squad hopping.

Everyone loves the idea of rewards, but absolutely nothing has been mentioned that would act as so much incentive for people to stop squadhopping.

i'm pretty indifferent about this idea.. but i just don't think 'personal reward' and 'loyalty' go hand in hand.. they're quite the opposites actually..
you stay with a squad through thick and thin not because of some personal gain you get from sticking around for a bit longer than you actually want to. but because, you've grown close to/have become one of, the core members of a squad and simply don't even consider leaving after a few twd/twl losses..

i'd advise staff not to waste too much time on developing a loyalty-reward-system, but then again if it's easily done it can't hurt either..

ps. plus i'd easily get the maximum rewards anyway.
pps. also, I'm pretty sure as captain you can still decide not to recruit the obvious squadhoppers. if every captain would do that, there wouldn't be room for squadhoppers. but that won't ever happen because a lot of captains are squadhoppers themselves and most squads die quicker than squadhoppers can hop anyway..

I don't have any ideas for rewards, and I don't expect any to be implemented. Staff is busy enough as is and as people have pointed out, there probably aren't any rewards important enough based on this situation to actually motivate people to squad hop less. My point wasn't to come up with a solution (I don't have one right now), my point was just to emphasize the problems that squad hoppers have created within the zone. And maybe, just maybe, people that currently squad hop would see the problems they're creating. In some sort of hope that if loyalty to a squad isn't enough to keep you there (provided it's a squad with decent leadership) that maybe the fact that you're hurting the competition and in turn the game, you'd stop. It only makes sense that if you take the time to play this game, and it entertains you, that you wouldn't bite the hand that feeds.

People have always squad hopped but today I'd say it's never been worse. And as a result you see that in the competition. Granted, it's not the only reason for the decline in competition.

I think this is bullshit, during off-season everyone squad hops then joins their twl squad. When TWL comes, if all the good players stayed on one squad this zone would be boring. I like joining squads to play better people to get my practice for TWL. It's just useless staying on a stacked squad knowing you'll win every game, i prefer a challenge.

When a dominant player (vys) goes from squad to squad like he has been doing the last few months and gets wins for that squad, and then leaves, sure it sucks that a good warbird leaves your squad, but you are still ranked high enough to get into TWL, and that increases the amount of people that want to join your squad in the process. I think that what he is doing has upped competition in a TWL where very few teams will be admitted into.

Not when stupid squads give him a captain position. Because when this happens, he leaves and the squad suffers greatly. Examples: lifeban and paladen. That being said though, who the fuck would give him captain anyways.

the only way to reward loyalty is to be easier on the old squads when it comes to twl qualification but Ive said it for 5 years now and no twl op ever listens to me cos they rather have an unstable squadhopping league

You guys are retarded. I think lag killer says it best. This is a game, not a way of life. Yea it's fun to compete and have a good challenge. But when people start to take this game waaay to seriously, it becomes stale and not fun at all. You guys should just get past this.
