NO ?go base fridays????????

Maybe just get an open schedule for submissions for events that gets filled on a first come first serve basis over the course of the week, and it all gets hosted friday night or whenever.

I like this and I think its a much more practical use for an EventBot type bot. Store suggestions all week and then host the top 5 requested - also make sure that people can't request events like "plzzzz zombies plz plz plz" cause the bot can't organize that.

I think this thread speaks for itself. Remember that this game is for the players and arbitrarily making decisions that will make us lose players at an even more rapid rate is not something we're in a position to do.

Bioture's idea is OK, though. If someone wants to host a big basing game, just wait until the current ?go base game is over, remove the bot and tell them that a basing event is being hosted. Hopefully most of them come to the event and play along with others around the zone. After the event, the bot should be put back immediately, though. I don't think 24 hours, 12 hours, or 6 hours is a good idea. Taking the bot out of ?go base to host a basing event is satisfactory in my opinion. Are you going to sit online for 24 hours hosting base games, Stargazer? Because that's what we're used to with ?go base.

Who is making a decision? The whole point of this is to find out what the zone feels.

Obviously changing base is not a favourable opinion. Yet out of this thread we have a couple of workable ideas.

1)No bots/manually hosted base events.
2)Eventbot used for a top 5.
3)Shutting down ?go base for a basing event once in a while after the game is over.

I feel these 3 ideas are workable. And will test them in game.

That said. The original idea of shutting down base for a extended length of time is...

If I come up with some other ideas, I will again post them here and find out what you guys think.

THE ONLY THING THAT'S AcTUALLY 'KILLING' THIS ZONE IS THE RETARDED EVENTS THAT ARE ALWAYS BEING HOSTED.

1) These are the first arenas a lot of newbies end up, as these 'event' arenas, get the most attention with the retarded zoners all day through..
2) These events aren't AT ALL about skill.
3) These events may be fun for a little while, but get extremely boring quickly because of the lack of a competitive factor
4) No competitive factor = people won't play this game for very long.
5) Leagues / elim / deathmatch / tourny etc. and a couple of events DO have a competitive factor.
6) Events should always STAY CLOSE TO TRENCHWARS SHIPSETTINGS. Every event that messes around with shipsettings should FUCK OFF.
7) In conclusion: newbies don't know what this game is about; think it's boring quickly and leave quickly.

So yes, go away with your retarded events. Have a few normal events like deathmatch for wbs/javs, maybe an occasional hunt/rabbits/zombies i don't know, fuck off with things like fishies, retarded basing maps etc.

why do you insist on forcing people to do things they dont want to do? If 8 people rather play go base, than go to some event they OBVIOUSLY dont want to do, why should you stop them from doing something they DO want to do? Lets say we have 2 events that require 20 ppl to be fun. If the first 10 ppl only like and play the event A and the other half only plays event B both are unhappy. It is mathematically proven that egoism does not result in the optimal outcome for everyone

The reason hosted events are getting poor turnouts is because there is an overhostage of crappy events and hosts abusing in events.

Less events. More quality.

<ER>s Ignore these people who pester you to host events that wont work at the time of day they are requesting them. Like people who request twvillage when theres like 100 people online...

Also stop fucking with pub EVERY weekend. Make a special pub weekend once a month/2 months not every weekend.

Another thing we need to look at twd registration. So many people are having issues with it...i think its putting newbies off playing in twd.

This new <er> system is not working in its current form.
That said i've mentioned most of these above points numerous times without anyone coming back with any points saying im wrong...so maybe im just banging my head against a brick wall..
