LOL welcome to 5 years ago, when selling and stealing names was the thing to do.

Selling / buying names is already a stupid idea because once a name is bought, it can easily be claimed back using ?lostpassword . Furthermore, the SSC biller (name/scores database) doesn't recognize the purchase so your money is lost if the seller isn't giving it back.

I agree the name resetting of the SSC biller can be improved and can be fixed. (We all have a name that we want to have but can't because it has been taken ages ago.)
However, as with many things of Continuum and SSCU Trench Wars, it comes down to the "famous" Priit K. who doesn't do much for the game anymore. You can keep shouting and cursing at him but it doesn't help and in the end you'll probably give up like the many before you.

Cressan is obviously jealous of the name horders. "Assholes" like megaman89 or l3x even got number in their main aliases. They profit on people like you cessan who think they will look more elite if only they had a name that was hard to get aka dictionary word. Your suggestion of making it easier to get hold of them will kind of ruin it. And besides most who been playing the game for a while knows dictionary names don't make the players. For example, Megaman89, demonfaze, sika, vihta, banzi fuq to name a few all make their names look cool because of the players behind the name.
My advice to you is to stop whining and create an original name and make it look cool.

Ruin what? I assume you mean that people hording and selling names is actually a kinda of a good thing because that makes them rarer and more coveted, making it more rewarding when you actually attain them. If name hording was limited somehow or names were reset then these dictionary names would lose some of their appeal. That's true to some extent but I don't really think that it would ruin anything except for the name horders themselves; there's a reason certain types of names are popular in the first place. And yes, you make your own name, but don't imply that whatever the name is doesn't matter at all. There is an aesthetic appeal to certain words that makes them more sought after as names, if this weren't true there wouldn't be horders and people wouldn't be willing to spend money on them. I'm saying the game would be better if names were more frequently made available, i.e. better name resetting and, if possible, a way to limit profiles.

There is sufficient infrastructure available for that contingency...The main issue would be funding...as running TW is fairly expensive.

You guys all argue that names don't matter much. But what about squadnames? You get a good squadname and it's easier to recruit better players.

Look at Deliria. Everyone assumes they're newbie because of their name (They are a lot better than their reputation). It's an auto-assumption. Thus, it's harder for not in game and M1ke Hunt to recruit better players.
