I exploited the rule by doing this:

Someone would argue with me, then i would say that they called me a "ch***". Then that person would agree with me and I would get them banned. It was quite funny (2001).

Racism is a bad thing, when you treat other people badly about it. If you actually discriminate people because of race, then yes, it is bad. But on a video game where THERE ARE NO RACES, how can you possibly be using any racial terms seriously? There is no context in that matter. Those that are offended should just keep their ?obscene on and leave racist remarks in the obscenity list. Seriously. It's fun to get banned and everything, but I don't wanna be banned everyday just because my kill macro is

This only shows that you have no idea what racism is. Acknowledging a race as part of someone's identity is not racism. Saying that someone is black, or white, or Chinese or Native American; this is no more racist than saying someone is a male is sexist. Seeing race is not racism. Discriminating by race, or being derogatory is. Your argument that racism has no context is also flawed. We are dealing with real people, and they each have their own background. There is a context; we're just never sure exactly what that context is. Just because you don't know whether a person belongs to a particular race doesn't mean he does not have a race. Context exists. Using a racist term and saying that it's okay because you don't know what race other people are is such a silly, trivial reason. That's like saying that if you are making racist statements against blacks but there are no black people around you, therefore you are not being racist. Even if you stick to the claim that there is no context, use of racist terms creates that context. You ask how can someone take racist terms seriously? That shows you have no idea what racism means at all.

I almost agree here, but I think the problem here actually lies in people that do it with great consistency. ?ignore'ing someone doing this may stop him from offending you, but it also leads to some 12 year-old picking up the lingo, mistaking it for something that's funny or cool. Racism is neither, and we don't exactly need to be perpetuating a bad habit. (Yes, I know, I'm having a crisis of conscience right now.)
