  • (Base) Elim-beta bots issues?

    I would like to finish the beta elimination bots in ?Go elimbeta and ?belimbeta and get them in ?go elim and ?go baseelim! However, I suspect there are still some issues with the bots.

    Which issues do you feel need to be fixed before it should be moved to the main elim arenas ?




    Try to keep this topic clean please
    or else I'll clean it.

    I dont think the ranking system for the belimbeta bot doesn't work yet... atleast it didn't work yet yesterday I believe and for sure not a week back.

    And yes I do think the ranking system for the elims is crucial

      Since go javs has been left up the entire time, the 'go javs' part of belimbeta has been virtually untested, so I think ?go javs needs to be shut down(or at least a bot to kick ignorant players from ?go javs to baseelim) so it can be tested (and left that way since it is obsolete with the option to play in belim anyway)

      People in this game are IMPATIENT, they will 95% of the time decide to go afk in an arena and talk, as opposed to waiting/afking in the arena they want to do stuff in. That is why I think the go javs part of belimbeta is very important, people will go to an arena when it has high # of people, even if most are afk in it, its still better than seeing a 2 as the population.

      Although I am pretty sure there will be outcry from people wanting to keep go javs just because it keeps their kill/death stats.

      Belim has been pretty active the last week or so, and it has seemed to do just fine. But most people dont try new stuff so its kinda hard to test most of the game modes..

        You're right, i believe ELIMs should be put as one as they were long time ago. That would make more players to be in one place and would attract more players to elim.

        Now that our beloved MMaverick fixed elim rankings, i've seen elim come more popular in each day and that is really positive thing

          the wb race option doesn't work correctly, it intrepts it as a "UFO elim or UFO race" can't remember which one right now.

              Yes. The free play is currently turned off. It needs to be turned on again and checked if it works well.

                  negative death streak is useless

                  the hiders function in elim is useful, especially towards the end

                    in belimbeta, if you do lag out you're guaranteed out because you're "outside of base too long" as soon as you enter back in using !lagout

                    I don't really care if you remove the lagout possibility altogether or fix it. I'm just pointing out a flaw cuz i'm negative nancy.

                        Just use the bots and move them to elim/baseelim, the extra playing area in the map is virtually useless, let me demonstrate.

                        Elim of 10 players, everyone is in the bottom box.

                        Newbie is out, 10 kills 10 deaths.
                        *Newbie is warped to top arena*

                        Newbie> Well this sucks I'm on my own, gonna spec, afk.

                        Newbie 2 is out, 10 kills 10 deaths.
                        *Newbie 2 is warped to top arena*

                        Newbie 2> Nobody here..No fun.

                        And so on. There are VERY little people in elim, unless advertised these areas aren't useful. It devalues elim as the waiting time is removed between elims with the added box, not to mention the fact that some players set !classic on (spec after you're out in elim).

                        You either come to elim to elim or to play around, unfortunately the majority JUST want to elim, at least they do in ?go elimbeta, (dunno about belimbeta) so that's even less people playing. That's what I think needs to be taken into consideration.

                          Something is wrong with the averages and hence everyone's rating. Milosh claimed he used the old formula, but averages are much lower than were before. Used to be people had averages around 300, now it's more like 200. Also the more I play the more my average goes down. Some guy named Loomis even had an average of zero, but it went up to 11 after his last game.

                            Also i'd like to discuss about Bots lag handling. I dont think there are any lag modules in Elimbots so it would be good to add one. Like i've seen some horrible 800ms ping player playing and without getting specced... Also some kind of spike checker that checks players tinfo like in TWD. Is there a way to add TWD lag module to elimbots and modify it a little?

                              In belim there is some (small) bug that when you vote for a kill race, it says 'blah blah elim to -1' before the game starts. The kill race still works fine though.
