so been absent awhile, is this really happening or is this sort of a eastern orthodox calendar April Fool's joke?

RapidShare interested in buying Subspace o.O

I was hoping that a serious suggestion that makes a 'global' change would require a professional representant. This could be either fake or relatively unimportant for them. Anyways the idea itself is interesting enough to negociate on it (despite the fact we have no say), so as to get an in-sight on their (if real) suggestions on the matter.
This, however, gives us a strong impression that this zone and game overall are in the need of, even drastic, changes that might manipulate the population trend. Best thing is to consider money gain, but how? Perhaps add adverts to zones or league? I do not know, but it could be a start for another thread: how to take actions that could resist the diminishing population? - Yes I know it has been discussed, but little or no actions were taken. Perhaps merging with another zone could do something?

Dear Sir,
We need your identity to know who we are talking to. My name is Bobby Chang and I am the managing director of RapidShare AG.
If you are the responsible person who can negotiate for Subspace, I would appreciate if we could set up a call to discuss an interesting opportunity for both companies.
Please send me an email back to confirm your identity with contact details to set up a call.
Best Regards / Mit freundlichen Grüssen
Bobby Chang

I don't think him independently verifying that the email is legit is any cause for concern. I mean if anything, it will just show the people at RapidShare that there are people interested in what's going on, and that they are also very interested in preserving continuum. If xog was pretending to be someone who can negotiate from a point of influence, then maybe you'd have a point. But as a curious "regular player" he's just reinforcing their beliefs that the game is viable, and that people will actually use RapidShare in order to play it (he had to have an account to email them i'm assuming).
I'd seriously doubt there'd ever be a lot of legal recourse because whoever seems to own the rights to SS doesn't seem to give a fuck what goes on with it.
I'd also be interested to see what games they have that make them money. Does anybody know? What's their source of revenue from? Subscriptions or ads?.fffffffff_____
