As someone who was initially hopeful about this interest from rapidspace i have been disappointed.

If anything Xog's involvement has helped to protect subspace, the offer of legal contacts is ALWAYS useful in a situation like this...If they were seriously interested in the future of subspace and working with the community to develop the game and not just trying to ripping us off, as i'm increasingly suspecting their aim was, they would not have got spooked by an email from a law firm.

I don't even like the guy, but he has done nothing jepodise any "deal". There never was a deal, from what I can tell, rapidshare didn't do their homework and just wanted to try and steal this game from us. The talk of 100,000s of players and "paid jobs" for staff were quite frankly just bait to try and hook us in...

Diamond transistor computer processing (terahertz) is being released commercially in 2011. Carbon nanotube visual displays will allow for 512bit systems (xbox720, etc). I want to see Subspace Continuum go cellphone (or we're going to lose a lot more than new-age consoles already took). Rapidshare was some p2p music sharing thing right? I dont think they have any idea what's about to happen in the electronics industry. We should just hold out and wait for someone brilliant and aspiring, like some of our own coders, to contact a cellphone firm when they feel like it, perhaps after another two years of coding experience.

nice try, but you really have no idea. cell phone resolutions will be capable of displaying ps2 quality graphics. 2d topographical will be the 'snake' of carbon nanotube visuals on cellphones.

also i very highly doubt cellphones will actually be cellphones, they'll be UMIDs, mini fully functional windows OS internet things, about the size of psp +their screens, and fold down with a comfortable size keyboard.

f you dont believe me, check out whats already out such as wibrain at dynamism.com with it's 4.8 inch screen that plays 1024 resolution no problem. you can even turn it vertical without distorting too much to play because continuums resolutions are flexible.

I'm just wondering how zones would be divided and how they would be run.

Staff as it is today would be an impossibility. Rudy for an example. Regardless of his fine work for TW and SS, his attitude wouldn't work out if the game was owned and actively run by an active company (this goes for the majority of TW and SS staff).

Amusing idea none the less.

I didn't read up anything about this so I may be speaking out my ass. If this is anything like the EA > AOL take over, the staff will be employees of the company, or hired by them through the game. If they buy the rights to the game, the zones could be under their control as well right?
