Anyone notice that the resolution now has a third dimension in it?

Before you enter a zone click resolution and you'll see that .38 has 3 dimensions. Does this mean anything? I want answers!

It's not a 3rd dimension. It's color depth or something, I dunno. It's like 8, 16 whatever.

think of it in windows:

eg 800x600 @ 16bit ( the 'bit' is the colours ) the higher, the better colours, but in SS... i dont see much point i'd use 8 as it is not that demanding on colours

its colour depth/mode. 8 bit is old-style palettised, and sometimes causes graphics problems when you alt-tab back to the game. 16/24/32 bits aren't palettised, and should cure graphics corruption problems.

my fps drops to like 10 if I increase it from 8 bit

Me too Blood. Tried it out in 32-bit depth. Holy shit, 4 fps!

This is why people stopped making 2d games on the PC It sucks at parallax scrolling for 2d games.

i get ~280 fps (in base 170-190 fps)with 32bit yay.

with 8bit i have ~750 fps (in base 300-400 fps)
