Strange how many variations ppl use, and say that they are the only right ones. "most natural" is the on you are used to and I tried some that you posted and they all just suck.

And I still cannot understand that noone use thumb for both thrust and bullets.

The old FPS, before the mouse was used. Eh, I guess I just played too much DOOM as a child.

shift+f1=first macro
shift+f2=second macro
shift+f3=third macro
shift+f4=forth macro
shift+f5=fifth macro
shift+f6=sixth macro
shift+f7=seventh macro
shift+f8=eight macro

I used to distinguish left and right shifts, but that was a little bit too complicated for me.

I use default settings.

Left:

Pinky - CTRL
Ring Finger - SHIFT
Ring Finger - TAB

Right:

Thumb - Left Arrow
Middle Finger - Up Arrow
Index Finger - Right Arrow

I shift my left hand up when I want to use afterburners and then fire if I'm in a ship besides wb. With my right hand I use my middle finger to change from the up arrow to down arrow. It's the best way in my opinion, it makes dodging so much easier.
