at this rate this is what will be the final blow to this game, and the vast majority of the blame lies with the players, or at least a select handful of them

i don't know what is wrong with the offline lives of some of these kids to make them act like such spoiled brats on the internet, but from the moment they log onto the game they're pulling ridiculous stunts to cause unnecessary headaches for staff and it looks like some of the staffers are finally fed up with it, frankly i support them because i myself didn't have the tolerance or patience to deal with these people whatsoever when i rejoined staff last time so i stopped answering all but the most basic (or twl-related) calls

bottom line, don't act like a retarded child with entitlement issues if you expect help from staffers who are not paid to deal with your bullshit, it's a completely voluntary position and they are not required to do a damn thing for you (but they almost always will unless you're going out of your way to be a fuckhead), if you care at all about what's left of this community then grow up and stop being a malignant tumor

Staff isn't required to help? Then what the hell is the point of having a ?help/?cheater system? Anybody that applies for staff should have been in this game long enough to realize the kind of people they would be dealing with. If you or anybody else doesn't want to deal with these people, then quit and find somebody who will. What happened when ZHs were always trying to be the first to say "on it" or utilize some rediculous !tell from RoboHelp? Granted their motivations were a bit twisted, but at least they were helping everyone that needed help.

If somebody like Draft is giving you shit, give him shit right back. Don't just ignore him because that's only going to piss people off, which naturally has more severe consequences. You guys have the ability to squish a lot of these small issues before they become public disturbances but you consistently choose to flex your superiority muscles just because you can.

Also, all this talk about transparency over the last few months I thought was a good step, but all I'm seeing in this thread is "trust me" and "i know stuff you don't know". I have no interest in this particular event with Phizey, but it appears you were all just spitting into the windd. For example, I swallowed my pride a couple months back and applied for staff, knowing I had something to contribute, and despite having 14 references (including 4 smods and 1 dean), when only 2 are required, my application was removed after being on the site for only 24 hours. I'm not bitter nor am I surprised, its just another example that "friends" running an beauacracy is never a good thing. I pray that I've seen the last of this game, as I have no desire to continue watching it fall apart from within staff, and eventually dissolving the rest of the zone.

What zizzo said was out of anger because of what Draft was saying about him. I highly doubt there were three people that refused to help him because he's Draft. It's more likely that there were some on that didn't feel like taking calls at the time. You can't take a situation like that and automatically turn it into "everyone was refusing to help him!!!!!"

i'd like to say one more time that i DID NOT provoke zizzo in any way, infact i don't even know who he is nor do i EVER talk with him. all i know is that he is very close with dreamwin, and we all know how much me/dreamwin hate each other.

The situation I was talking about where I told people not to help the guy was when he was being extremely rude to multiple TWD ops. If you called a tech support line and started swearing at the guy and calling him a "n*gger" and demanding they do this or that, they would probably hang up on you, too. Dealing with abuse isn't something staff has to deal with, end of story.

you want to compare? tell me, how many times do you need to call a tech support 24-hour line till they actually pick up? once?

As for Staff refusing to help. I have to say, I think there is a line that has to be set.

In my opinion, we staff as a whole, should be expected to make sure all calls are taken. Even if some contact is made saying no one is online. (in case of a TWD op call when there is only lower mods/<ER>'s on). There is a point where if there is an interpersonal issue between a player and a staffer, where it may be in both the staffers and the players best interest where no contact is made. (Aka squad members/People they have had issues in the past). Because of the fact we must remain unbiased. We have too many complaint of biased staffers, maybe its for the best they do not take these calls.

I do know there is no official place to let non-TWD ops who take these calls, to let the TWD Ops know that players need help. I will make a new post for staff that might help with the communication, that way people might be better able to get the help they need.

Its also my opinion that staff need to remain unbiased even if they dislike the player, but thats asking a lot of some people. I know that I do my best to help those who try to undermine my efforts in the zone. Its part of my position. I may not have to like the person, as long as I remain objective.

Just my two cents, and my thoughts on helping.

lol, what kind of comparison is that? You're comparing the service of paid workers on a 24-hour tech support line to the service of a bunch of kids (mostly) who log on to kill time? Yeah, the difference there being that tech support workers are paid to answer the phone, and are working on a schedule so that there is always someone there to answer the phones, because they're working for a business. If people were paid to answer calls here, then yes, I'd agree that it would be unacceptable to let them go unanswered, but this isn't the case. It's impossible to ensure that every call gets answered if there is no incentive to, because people aren't going to stay online until 6AM just to make sure no one teamkills, and it's impossible for anyone to tell if a staffer is actually at the computer and ignoring calls, or is passed out on the floor.

This is in response to both quotes. I don't know how many times I have to say it, but you have to understand the scenario when you send in a ?help call. I think that for the most part, TW staffers do their best to answer calls. It's the same with any other scenario on the internet; people don't flock to the forums to talk about the good experience they had with a staff member (perhaps such as the multiple times I've helped you when you got caught under bans), they have one bad experience and come make a post (2 weeks after the fact in this case) to get attention or try to prove how terrible the staff is here. No one makes threads thanking humid for putting in countless hours into TWDT, or Witness for uploading and configuring peoples maps, but someone gets banned for spamming "niger" and almost breaks their fingers trying to log onto the site as fast as possible to post about it.
