i think this forum should, in general, be work safe. if youre going to post porn put it in melee forum. i dont want to have to stop browsing forums, but that is a must for me. if the majority of the site doesnt remain work safe i will have to leave or become far less active.
Pretty much what Zeebu said. I assume half of you don't want to see a monster dick while your boss so happens to pass by.
For those of you who do like that... well there's the rest of the internet for you to utilize.
Racism will be based on context, but the N word and any other racial slurs will be edited out. I won't warn/ban if the context isn't derogatory.
Spam is obvious, not konging that's art. Spam is when you repeat the same shit over and over and over again till the point where you know this isn't repetition it's redundant and annoying.
no offense but if your boss walks by and you got web browser open with a forum with computer gaming graphics on the top aren't you in trouble? cuz this forum needs more cock and balls
look, the most recent revision of the forum rules are from 2007 when dangergirl ran the show. the rules she had were actually only an amended version from the very first set of rules flabin put together in 2002.
it's clear that the rules need to be updated. these forums have grown and changed so much over the years that we've certainly shifted our collective attitude from that which it was back then. a majority of those old rules are just fine, but i do feel that some of them could be loosened up a bit.
that being said, the gist of it is pretty much what zeeb/gran said.
i don't mind a few titties here and there, but it should be kept to an obscure sub-forum. i have yet to discuss this with my fellow forum staffers, but i was even thinking we could create a sub-forum which requires users to sign up and be accepted into a usergroup in order to view it. this way, no one can say they saw something they hadn't already agreed they were okay with seeing.
racism isn't rocket science. don't be a prick about it. don't try to get cute. we're all big kids here. we know what is and is not acceptable. if you have to stop and think, "hmmm... could this get me in trouble?" don't post it in the first place.
as for spam, if there's some rapid fire discussion going on and a guy posts three or four times in a row, i'll let that slide. on the flip side, if you're just being an annoying douche and not really contributing anything (be it entertaining or productive or whatever) with your post after post after post, get ready for an infraction and maybe even the ban hammer swinging at your head. if you do something really stupid (like i did during the free ilya campaign!) then except a ban no questions asked.
all of the issues you've brought up, xog, are pretty cut and dry. we don't want to babysit. don't give us a reason to. let's all just do our thing and have some fun in the process.

who's not having fun?
Maybe you're reading it wrong. My original post was basically me saying, what would be the difference if you were to replace the current rules with those 3? I don't see much different.
On another note, I'd like someone to look into why I got banned for reviving a thread when it was a sticky. This happened quite some time ago and was in the melee sub forum. Also, it was on-topic.
I'm not asking for payback or anything, I'm just curious to why I was banned for that. Nobody seemed to have an answer or even a reply to me when I asked back then.
Look we can't change what happened to you in the past with previous administration. You voted for us to be different and more leniant. Just trust things will be better.

I have to agree. This was the point of the whole vote, these guys are supposed to have your interests, concerns. And If not, have the ability to help discuss them with a forum staff that has been outdated for sometime.
