The money system is great, but ok opinions may differ. There's no change that gets accepted without anyone objecting. You wouldn't want to know how many people went crazy when the first car was introduced in the early 1900s.

As for the donation system, this game is not a pay-to-play game. Not even close.
We are asking for donations in a reasonable way and we are explaining to whoever LISTENS that we are using it for good purposes. You can even select the purpose yourself that you want your money to go to.
You can earn pub money by playing, so there is no obligation for anybody to donate money. We are just rewarding the ones that DO support TrenchWars by giving them some pubcash.

Continuum is a free-to-play game, but you should sometimes realize that it's not a free-to-offer game. So be thankful to the people that are paying in order for you to be able to play.

I can image that if we'd set up this donating system you'd go crazy and cry that we are not rewarding you for it.
Every day people cry that the population of TW is diminishing. Yet none of the crying people is doing anything to stop this. So we take action and try to promote TrenchWars as a game, by advertizing it on the right places. Obviously mostly it's not free. So now you cry that we trying to get more people to play.

Instead of crying over everything we do, you should appreciate the effort some people are putting into keeping this game alive. And if you think you can do better, your help is more than welcome.

so much wrong with what you said i couldn't even start to put you right, but really dont jump to assumptions about me appreciating the effort of SOME staff and ppl like pure_luck who have paid for the server ... but there is a big difference between those that do a thankless task quietly for the right reasons and those that self-promote themselves and act holier than thou

now if your talking about ppl putting in effort in saving a game by making changes that are driving me, and i'm sure others as well away, from the game then nah i'll say what i think and you should appreciate that , many ppl dont use these forums but have opinions and feedback , just yesterday i seen 2 ppl i dont know and 2 ppl i know , say they didn't like the new public or money system ... i told them to post in the forums but only 1 out of the 4 did cuase they dont have accounts and cant be bothered ...


TW has had a donation system without reward other than you could be listed along with the donation if you choose ... i've no problem with donations and have myself donated to non-profit organisations i believe in for no reward ... so you really are full of shit saying

I understand what you're saying Pressure. I'm hopeful that the system will attract more people than it drives away though, as stated above, any change that is made will have negative and positive responses. The fact that many people can win money by playing this game (weekly cash events - also partially funded through donations), will most likely increase the number of people that try this game out.

I'm going to ignore the holier than though art comment, because I honestly don't think anyone here is trying to display that attitude. You're obviously welcome to your opinion and encouraged to share it with everyone here.

You stated you spoke with 4 people about how they didn't like the new pub system; I’ve personally spoken with well over a hundred people that actually do like it. (No exaggeration).

Feel free to comment back with any updates/suggestions that will be useful in bringing about positive change.

If you donated $1 fifty times, you would only get 50,000 pub cash, but if you donate $50 at one time, you get 100,000 pub cash. Or if you donate $100 at one time, you'll get 300,000 pub cash.

PD, I see a lot of the points you are trying to make. I just think you are misinterpreting the point of a lot of what is being done. Please note that I am NOT a staff member, and likely never will be. With that said....

Using this new system, when you donate to TW, you are not "paying for an edge on the competition". You choose how exactly you want your dollar/pound/whatever your money is called to be spent. The reward we have in place is just an extra. You don't even have to accept the reward if you really had a moral objection against it. You would be investing in something very specific if you chose to donate. IE: Cash Events, Advertising, Charity. I am one of the biggest supporters of this operation, hence why I volunteered to create the thread. However, my donation was to charity (Make-A-Wish Foundation), as I will not donate to the game directly until I see exactly how its going to be spent.

If you want to donate to a non-profit organization on your own time then by all means, that is a great thing to do. All we are saying is that if you do it through TW, you can, and will be rewarded for it with pub money (That is worth $0). I used my money to thor a couple people that were dueling and costing one of them the game (gg peru) and had a ton of fun and laughs doing so. I did not "buy pub money", I donated to an organization that helps people with terminal illnesses fulfill a dream they have before they die. That makes me feel pretty good. In my opinion, any way to promote people donating to charities like these is a positive thing and should not be frowned upon.

I know you are not happy with some of the changes in TW pub recently, but try to stop letting your disappointment influence everything else that is happening. This is a win/win for everybody involved. 24 is a trustworthy guy and deserves your trust too, at least until he gives you a reason not to

Pressure Drop I think you're too stupid to realize it's 'Donate to help' and not 'Pay to play'. People are helping out the zone in a huge way and you're mad? These cash events spike a lot of interest in the zone and keep this game alive. Just look at yesterday, the jav event had over 100+ people for the WHOLE 2 hours. Tres' deathmatch had over 100+ on a friday night.

The spacebux reward is a small bonus. So people are able to shoot some extra thors, it's not a big deal. Let them have some fun, they just helped out the zone. Donating to the game isn't helping anybody get better at subspace or helping them win TWL, it's helping the zone stay alive. Stop crying and say thanks you faggot
