this afternoon i witnessed kiddos blowing a good chunk of his money to spam beam with slowdowns and laughing about it (along with half of the other players in the arena), so it would seem the rest of the players are not defenseless "oh woe is me" punching bags like they've led us to believe but rather the vindictive children that this game is infamous for

you can't scream and cry and say "i'm the victim" when you're going out of your way to make beam's playing time just as miserable

I get what you're saying, but literally every time beam is in pub all I see him do is lob thors from in front of the bottom safe, so all I see being done is stopping him from doing his usual schtick. Point taken though.

I've made it obvious that I don't care and that I feel the staff argument is being overused and pointless. Since I'm not going to be banned for doing something that isn't against the rules, let's just move on

If that idea does not get approved I still do not think a money maximum will be useful...
People would just spread their money over several aliases...and to have bots checking aliases for pubmoney would cost just too much time.

In my opinion the money system is flawed beyond simply making things more expensive. It is simply just another obstacle in getting new players into the game. Players with more experience can gather more dollars quicker, giving them the ability to frustrate those new players who have just started the game. The game was already stacked against new players coming into the game, what is the point to giving experienced players (staff or not) even more empowerment to own the new players?
Basing is supposed to be a team game, if nothing else perhaps removing private frequencies would help by removing the ability to buy things for only yourself. But if it were up to me, I’d be removing all things in Pub 0 that make breaking into the game harder instead of coming up with ways to make it more frustrating. I’d also have a long talk with any staffer who was doing anything that was counter to the zone objectives (which are clearly outlined on web site).

This is kind of off topic since it has absolutely nothing to do with beam, but I really don't feel like making another thread about it. The pub bot has a few features built into it that have never been touched. For example, ANY mod can enable/disable private freqs, levis, donations, etc. I'll take some time today and experiment with a few of these things to see how well they are received by the masses. Going to see if I can encourage more teamwork.

For the sake of saying at least 1 line on topic, beam would only be half as annoying if he was forced to play on a public freq, right?

Glad to see this thread is finally catching steam. I wondered what the reaction would have been had anyone seen how long beam had been thoring base not more than a few weeks ago. Talk about 2-3 thors from the bottom safe up to the top base every 10-15 second and the ENTIRE zone complaining.

I really don't get how anyone can defend beam here. Yes the system does let you buy thors, but did the system ever anticipate a player with 9 million pub bucks? Heck no. The average pubber has anywhere between 5-30k, thats 5-10 thors and they are done for at least 2 months. And what makes this even more sad is that he's a moderator.

Take away this guy's money and have him just play the game and earn his money dueling or god forbid he actually try entering the base and kill people with actual bullets.

The spacebux and shop idea was shit to begin with. Half of the items are obtuse or unintuitive, and require little skill, strategy, or finesse to use. You just have to play enough to have $$$.

Good example are the mediocre players who hop on private freqs late at night and make basing impossible by thor-terring for hours at a time. I thought the point of making base bigger and nerfing levs was to get RID OF THAT BULLSHIT. I don't know how these mongoloids can't get bored by driving around, lineshotting, and porting all day, but they obviously don't so thors and ports need to be several magnitudes more expensive or harder to obtain.

As far as this topic goes- don't hate the player, hate the game. That goes for most shit in life. You can't fault beam for taking advantage of an obviously retarded game mechanic. Fix the degenerative game mechanic and the problem goes away.

And on the subject -- Someone needs to take the hint from what beam is doing and take the shit that shouldn't be in pub in the first place OUT of the new system. Thors have no place in TW and as PD said, leave the spheres in Enigma. It's been a fun 'experiment' trying these new toys out in the !buy system but I think we can safely say that they are too easily abused at this point, can't we?

It's shitheaded of beam yes, .. but he's also doing what any typical pubber would end up doing eventually when they build up that kind of pub cash. If beam weren't doing it now; we'd be bitching about someone who isn't on staff doing it at some point and we should just get rid of the problematic !buy items now.

It does look bad though from a player perspective seeing a Staffer behave in this way though, so beam should cool it ^.^

LTing has been a big part of TW for a long time. I haven't seen this "thor terring" .... possibly you mean SuperLeviTerr? Wouldn't be surprised tho if people were loading up terrs with WBs and 'thor terring' though. The thors need to be removed and SuperLev should be more expensive or even removed and lev bomb made a little more powerful but not as powerful as they used to be.

The point of the new base was to make it able to support everyone who wants to LT, Duel, and Base all at the same time rather than just one or the other taking over and making pub stale.
