Meh I got bitched at a lot but it was by no names like cheese! I was a troll myself for a longtime so I know how to handle things like this. I think the punishments were a little excessive, but I also wasn't there. I don't really get how volcs got warned for racism and was then silenced afterwards. She should know if it was for help abuse or for racism. Did anyone inform her as they silenced her? Protocol calls for a *warn to notify someone what they are being silenced for and how long. The fact that she doesn't even seem to know tells me that all this emphasis on staff training is a little misguided.

i have a lot of people, staff and non-staff, who know this, and obviously theres still people out there, like you, who don't value and notice this at all.
not only talking about myself but also about other staffers, who spend their time voluntarily here to make it an enjoyable place for everyone.
of course, some might have only a faded vision of this ideal or lost this idea completely, but make sure you know before you are attacking someone.

i agree though that the racism boundaries should be discussed and be adapted to year 2012.

and start treating players and staffers with a certain amount of respect if you want to get respect back in return;
not talking about "authorities" ("space cops") right now, just a a decent amount of respect that you should show when talking to anyone, no matter if player or staffer.

figure i should clarify a couple of things:
1) i dont know the context, however the phrase "chink in the armor" is just that a phrase, generally refering to a weak spot and never has and never will be racism, and should never be treated as such.
2) Whats this excessive bot thing? i set the rules in TW and never have i made such a rule, nor would I.

I dont have screenshots which is fustrating, but after speaking to a couple of mods unbelievably it seems this was the reasons, sigh!

Well, I just talked to Demonic, and was offered an apology for being wrongfully silenced, and I am sure that sentiment will be passed along to the other people who were affected by OOOO's abusive staffing practices as well. The worst thing about this is that someone else had to apologize for his obvious mistakes and that it had to be taken this far before action was taken in the first place. Still I would like to thank Demonic for stepping up in this case and apologizing, it isn't something I hear often from staff and it is appreciated.

aye, from what i can see there is no way a ban should be issued for the word chink in that context, had to get staff to look it up on dictionary to realise it means crevice/fissure etc.. Anyways, as previously stated bot spamming is hardly a players fault, so no way they can be punished for that. So apologies all around to anyone involved, and ill deal with what i need to with this regard.
