Naws, i just think he got annoyed with every1 bashing him so instead of trying to re-explain himself, he chose to bitch them out. Course i could be wrong, but ive done it myself in the past when ive lost patience with ppl. Regardless of whether he meant to or not he made some valid points, even though they came across in the wrong way.

First of all, I can only see one "valid" point in his response, and that's only assuming that you personally buy into the whole idea of the classic "vet," which I do not.

Secondly, he opened himself up to criticism. He started the thread. Kid Kaos is old enough, and has been around long enough (a "vet", if you will) to know what was going to happen. If he was really worried about it, he would've spent five minutes before hitting "Submit Message."

Third, the "vet" mentality is retarded. It's proven fact. You've played this game for a really long time, eh? Awesome. Now let's blow up some spaceships.

Your all right, I did have some points, and I did put them across like that in person. My second post was annoyance and at the same time it was just laffing at what I knew was going to happen.

See, instead of trying to be a nice player, who loves everyone and tries to please evryone around him. I like to fuck with people, and try to have as much fun as I can, I dont care what people think of what I say or do because its just my personality. You're absolutely right though, TK. The word veteran, as it applies to SubSpace, should really be replaced by something more suiting, such as fucktard for instance. Fucktard is a much more colorful word and far better describes what a "veteran" actually is. As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to start referring to anyone who wishes to be labeled a veteran as a fucktard. I hope you, the general TW populous, will do the same. Together we can make a difference!

The reality of it is: When I was new to this game I would spawn any player I could get my bullet/bomb on. It just comes with the territory. Now I will avoid spawning squaddies or buddies, but besides that -- Everyone is free game. As for the "respect" issue. I think it goes both ways, if the vet goes on about his business chances are the new players will respect those type of players. Same with the vets -- If the new player(s) do the same, then the respect is mutual.

I do enjoy finding people who like to abuse the system and giving them their dues. Makes it all worth it to know everyone else gets a fair playing field "newbie" and "vet" alike.

I’m not sure if I’m a vet or not, not sure it really matters. I do expect some respect both in the game and here in the forums but this is based mostly upon my perception that I try to respect others. Basically the old adage about “treat others the way you would like to be treated”.

One observation, vets may have one distinct advantage regarding respect. A veteran of the game should understand that at times TW can be very frustrating and that we have all lost our tempers at one point or another. This should make vets more understanding and tolerant than less experienced players.
