reminds me of silent death, a game run by EA, after it was on AOL games. a hacker named SHZ crashed the servers every day after i and a few others exposed his cheating/hacks in the game. he also used software that was not detectable by any game servers, much like this game doesnt detect many cheats most likely.

he won in the end, EA shut down the game after daily server crashes and cheating epidemics.

The game endured a turbulent time here plagued by crackers exploiting bugs in the game, but nonetheless maintained a devoted following. To the disappointment of many fans, the game was discontinued on December 7, 2001

long story short ... "is never the answer" depends on what the hackers intent is. If he wanted to fuck with SS and TW he already succeeded and it was the answer to him apparently.

it would be nice if a big company would pick up this game just because of how long it's been online its a true classic.this game would do well on yahoo games.

if we dont be lazy and search online for lists of largest forums online make a username on different forum every 3-5 days and post about subspace

don't just go for english speakers try french spanish russian korean china japanese denmark even

if we all put in a little effort each week it will add up to a lot. we'll notice an increase in population withing a month

would be nice if staff opening a bounty thread where people can get x amount pub bux for each thread they post on a new site that don't get locked/deleted within 3 days possibly even other's can get y amount of pub bux for each new thread they reply to that hasn't been deleted within first 3 days posted

First the missing Malaysian airline flight and now this. What is going on?! It's a shame this happens at all but the timing of this is even worse. At a time that year after year the population of our zone decreases, this is going to speed up thay process even more. Hope this gets resolved sooner than later. Personally I already miss tw...not so much for the game play but just because I can't even log on to the tw chat app from my phone and talk to most of you like I normally do. Anyways, I hope they catch whoever did this...we should be fixing what we can and trying to help the zone instead of kill it even more. Have a good day everyone, hope to see yall soon.

Well its definately good to see a lot of positive replies to this sad event which is happening to us right now. While this is a sad attempt from a pathetic person who once claimed he had love for the game, and now tries to destroy it, we can hopefully all make something positive out of this in the end. This isn't about calling eachother names anymore, about trolling, all the superficial bs is to be overlooked right now and the focus needs to turn to the survival and revival of TW (and don't forget the game itself) once we're back up and running, because we surely WILL be. Right now its up to all of us to show that we can bounce back from this and support TW again once its back up, by simply coming online again and showing us that you all still care.

It seems the attacks are still happening (other zones coming back up, and going back down), so it's not a simple case of just rebooting the server and hoping for the best. We need to take solid measures to prevent DDos attacks from taking our zone down again in the future, so please have patience and stay active on the forums, etc. We will inform you by email/social media/forums/tw website once we have more news and/or TW is back online.

The players there are all player bots! Though alot of them get stuck on wall (firing at you still)- if u get near them- they start attacking you haha. How is this possible tho? and can we get this in TWS?

If we can get this in tw's- would be way more fun during the dead hours :P

HaH, good times. Starship Troopers was also really fun I was probably 8 or so when I played that one. Those charges were insane back them, I had a $350 bill once I think.
