maybe some newbies who started playing this game in 2015 like 2pacz should shut the fuck up and realize m_m god is one of the good staffers left in this game.

MM has literally been the glue that kept some sort of staff structure and zone still running. I don't say that to take away any of the contributions that both some staff and players have made over the years, as they have been important and can't be under valued, but to be staff and sysop for as long as he has, and still hold the respect of the majority of staff/players speaks volumes.

Obviously you can't please everyone, and 2pac may have genuinely had a gripe, or he could just be trying to attention seeking so I can only speak from my own experience which is if there was more staff like him a lot of the player/staff issues would not have happened.

Turban will be a different type of sysop, a lot more vocal (which is good) but fundamentally he has the same important qualities IMO in terms of listening and being fair to players which is needed with a small player base.

Their have been few staff who have been able to do this, certainly that I have worked with (2d, mr.spam, Acid Twin, the_paul (best asst bang op), kthx, LF (80% of the time), connection), and the longer these type of individuals stay and have influence the better. I do sometimes wonder if staff should be in terms rather then ongoing as even the best staffers after along time start to hit a downward spiral after years of dealing with staff at the expense of enjoyment but either way with MM and Turb the zone is in good hands for steam.

Learn how to communicate and be transparent, or learn to hire a Public Relations staffer that can actually do this for you. As it stands, whoever is the PR staffer right now is a useless joke. The fact that don't even know who holds the position means they are horrible at it. That's an automatic firing right there.

We did not have an active Public Relations person for quite some time until last Tuesday, when I was given the role. Since that time I've been pretty vocal about that position and what I am trying to do, a lot of which is what you're talking about - improving transparency and communication between staff and players. But I made a statement on my role in News & Announcements, and the public staff list is always updated and shows who is in each position.

Beasty blacklisted me because he couldn't accept that he was wrong and it was "my last chance". For the record I've no intent of just jumping in and being the "chief". I'm quite content leaving that with you and seeing how things start to change. If those in charge still try to play the puppet master role like they are with azov then I'm out and no (more) harm done. I'd be quite content just as a zh or twd or whatever other role needs to be filled, i know how to do literally everything. At least that way I'd be "in the loop" of your top secret society and offer some good insight because lets be honest nobody is going to take your current PR rep seriously.

I tried, but it seems i am "Do Not Hire" per one of the people that needs to be replaced because I refused to accept a 3 day suspension 18 months ago because I *shipreset myself in a hosted event that I needed to spec in. Speaks volumes of a person that they are willing to throw away one of their best resources over such a mundane reason. With the resources I have at my disposal I could single handedly do within 30 days what current leadership hasn't been able to do in years. With the team mentioned in your post (if they were willing) it could be done even quicker but alas we are stuck with stubborn and clueless egomaniacs making the calls. Nobody can currently say I havent tried to help (again), my conscience is clear. Good luck tirpin

as for the title of sysop being temporary, it is because the moment i feel that i can't contribute enough to be relevant or a better candidate arises to replace me, i will step down.

@ exalt: i have spoken with wark already, tried to move him through the official channels (deans), but maybe i will have to do it myself. i doubt ph wants to return, and haven't spoken with jerome and zeebster in a long time. always open for suggestions though, i'd love to have more people who dares to speak their mind on stff.

there is going to be a steam meeting among developers this saturday or sunday, and it seems that some older names (ghost ship) are participating as well.

topics are basically about a new installer, legal stuff, steam in general, preparing etc. no clear agenda yet as far as i know, but i will try to be there to monitor, ask questions and see the current status.

On a far less serious note: The real problem with staff from the start has always been the lack of communication with players. Demonic claims she wanted Turban SYSOP (which I agree with) due to his charisma and communication skills. This is a good thing. The problem with staff are that they don't talk outside of staff chat. They aren't transparent.

Look above me at 2pac and TP arguing about M_M God. TP worked with M_M and claims he's a great staff member, and 2pac says he hasn't done shit. The truth is probably in the middle somewhere, but how would anyone know? M_M doesn't say shit to the public at large. If you don't tell us what you've done, then you've done nothing and should accept all blame for that. Perception is reality.

The only staffer that really speaks to the community is Turban, but unless Turban is going to run absolutely everyone in this zone, then I hope he starts hiring people who aren't introverted nerds that can speak their mind and communicate with a team as well as the community at large. Communication with the community should've always been a #1 priority in a community ran game. The fact that it never had been until now shows how badly things have been mismanaged from the top for the longest time.

Problem is most of staff don't no wdf is going on. When I was staff it was extremely hard to get any info regarding future developments- its like a secret project. There is no real direction to what is going on- hasnt been for years so I really don't get my hopes up at all when it comes to this stream. The only chance we've got is finding coders using donation money.

Epicness such as TW Council Member status should stand on it's own fame. The same goes for Exalt being the first TW Council Member to become Staff.
