You cracked me up with that "eh?" in the end. Man creatively waiting for TW to be saved by someone, whilst preying on that maintenance job that suddenly might become a thousands of dollars job instead of Cheetos as it currently stands. I like your vision Papi!

I'm following the project though not actively contributing (might at some point), which means I can verify that POiD is still actively developing it. I've been able to get it up and running on my home system, with some issues. The fact that it's cross-platform means there are some problems that have to be thought of inventively. Also, Unity updates their system and often significantly changes how things are done from version to version, breaking older projects. But not keeping up to date means it's hard to continue to develop and will be a pain to maintain later on, so it's nearly required...

POiD's said he won't have much time to work on it over the next month or two, as he'll be on vacation. (Hope he doesn't mind that I'm mentioning this.) It's a long term project.

    Greetings Trench Wars,

I would like to announce a special project that POiD has been working on behind the scenes as a potential replacement for Continuum. While still in a pre-alpha stage, considerable development has already gone into this client, currently named QuantumSpace. At the bottom of this post I've linked to a ~6 minute YouTube video of some initial gameplay and functionality, so please see POiD's progress for yourself.

The goal of this project is to be able to initially emulate Continuum, then move on to improving the game's graphics (including 3d ships), with an eventual goal of porting the game to iOS and Android so it can be played on mobile devices in addition to on the computer. This would give an improved chance at attracting a younger generation that has become increasingly involved in mobile gaming.

To increase the pace of development, POiD could use the help of any players willing to donate their time and efforts towards the development of the project. Right now he could use help with 3d modeling, specifically of the ships. If you're interested, please contact POiD or myself.

Once POiD feels QuantumSpace has gotten to an alpha stage, he will begin soliciting players and staff to help him do testing, but that is still probably a few months away.

This is a very exciting project which could hopefully help breathe some new life into this now 17+ year old game we enjoy so much. Well done, POiD!

Without further adieu, here is the first video for QuantumSpace: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzF77iCew78

Unless you create amazing new graphics and suddenly gain huge insights into new ways to make not only old players, but an entirely new generation of them as well join your game, I fail to see the point whatsoever. Aside from the ability to change things more easily due to having the actual source code, it doesn't change the fact that this game is dying for a reason.
A lot of people are looking for a like-for-like game without the staff. lol

Well for starters, the owner would have the game codes to create what they want/ add things/ actually improve/ adapt pub to give the best experience. The only changes you really see in pub atm is ship setting changes- which is not really anything but pissing people off lol.

    -Better graphics...

-When you download an arena- you download it v fast instead of waiting 5 yrs to download only a 5mb arena.

    -Changing your registered email address

-Perhaps allowing a button you can press that allows you to actually speak in game to other players instead of typing.

Anything can happen to improve the game without actually affecting the fundamental concepts of the zone.
