We need pure pubs

Firstly, it is impossible to have two seperate types of pub, they would have to be subarenas (ie: ?go base.) So the amount of "pubs" there would be would not be based on popularity, it would be based on how many arenas the settings were changed in, and how many had bots.

There is no way to force people to another arena, it would be a nice command for people who spam and such to be forced to a private arena, but, it is impossible.

Is saying who has the most points really basing? It will just encourage sharks who mine like hell for kills, and less terr's because everyone wants their name in green.

In regard to your comment about usage, you realize you are saying..."we want more people to base, but we want you to be good at it before you try" ?go base is a perfectly good usage based basing arena.

By limiting the number of sharks and jav you deter people from coming, fact is, most people don't want to go to a public arena to spider. Granted warbird and lancaster would still be available, but would a base full of warbirds be much better then a pub?

I like the idea of constant pubs without levis, but I think that your idea takes it to the extreme.

well keep in mind that good basing does occasionally occur in pubs, no matter how short it may last due to the fact that levterrs will kill it off asap. there are many warbirds, but really they kind of balance each other out and there arent too many terr deaths. its not like in ?go base where the warbird's main target is constantly the terrier.

and who said you would have to force people into another arena? why not just put a bot in pub 0 and start the thing up?

Because all the people who don't like the idea would go bat shit thining that all pubs were like that and.....Newbs you are placed in pub 0 who don't have enough usage can't enter the arena, and will be forced into spec, which is iilegal, and therefore the will be *kill'ed. With the way you want it to be, you can't put it into a pub

Didnt read anything of this thread, but this must be like the millionst thread saying we need pure pubs instead of these, and times and times again it has been explained that it wont work, and alot of people will leave tw.

well fuck me. im sure there is some way to make this work. in every pub there are levis and LTs and i cant stand dying to completely non-skilled shots anymore. all im trying to do is get the ball rolling so maybe someday pubs will actually be something for tw to be proud of.

Hmm I think hes on to something here. If this happened it would be harder to lt but it would still be possible. Maybe make the time limit like 3 seconds so if you want to get into base it is still possible.

In order to their to be an "attached time limit" in the game, it would have to be added to the Continuum executable, since there is no option like that in the game in the current version.

Also, I used to think it was a good idea, but for the reasons others have stated, it is pretty much out of the question to make a single "pure pub". The only way it would work is if it was enforced by a bot, and I doubt anyone would do it.

The best idea would be to nerf the Lev's (unbalanced) bomb power and radius.

Maybe raising the bounty needed by a levi to attach to say 50 would be a good deterent to the LT's.
Would still be possible, but if the levis can only get to 15 bounty by their team collecting greens it would make it far more difficult and time consuming for most to do.

You have to remember- there are still those assholes who support the LTs by dancing outside the safes greening said levis. 20 to 50 would make little-no difference, imo. I agree with stab, the best option would be to check out the possibility of an attachment timer for the next edition of continuum, but in the meantime, lower its bomb power/blast radius, maybe even make it a yellow bomb.

I have seen enough, there is obviously people out there not happy with the pubs.

I have a concept of a public base arena..... I guess I should work on a custom map, and settings....etc..

Za Gopher has a few good points, though I know of solution for the levi's...

I admit, I don't find public basing that much fun, little bored with it... I just love to duel good wb pilots in it now...

I mentioned a solution to the levi problem, but no one cared.... ok Za Gopher's solution will work, but a little too drastic..heh...
