I'd considered going back to staff, but apparently I'm such a horrible abuser that Weaver won't hear of it. Back when I was a mod I added myself into a couple (It was either two or three, and I don't remember which.) elims a few seconds after go was announced. Granted, it was wrong. I apologized. I would never do it again simply because I realize now just how idiotic it was. Erathia must've sucked lots of cock to negate the fact that he's done the same in the past, way more than I ever did anyway.

My sole purpose in a return to staff would be to bring some regularity to the hosting of FUN, WELL-ORGANIZED basing. Sure, there's ?go base, but there are also umpteen other basing arenas out there. Oh, and I'd be one hard-assed mod who wouldn't think twice about banning cocky bastards who like to push their luck by pulling stunts like baseelim/elim teaming. The current crop of staffers are far too timid when it comes to putting a foot down.

We need something new, anyways. I have sat in ?go base for games on end and have yet to play. My squad flamed out too early (captain disputes -- we were 3rd in TWJD too ) and so im squadless, so only the big-namers get to play.

Im also not to hot of a jav, basing-wise. TWJD, heck yes, but i cant ever practice:

1) I go to a public to base
2) i cant reach the base -- lev bombs, warbirds, etc
3) i ?go base
4) I dont have a squad thats reputable / not known as a javver
5) what a waste of 30 minutes.

If I ever became a staffer (unlikely) I would host basing like mad but in new ways, like pick a fairly average player to cap, and help him. you know, PM him some ideas, etc

So someone do this for me. Just make a ?go base where, hell, even if it was just random players put on each freq (like in pubs), it would add more enrichment to the whole basing perspective, old school basing. Basing with people you dont know, makes you better -- you gotta be flexible to meet any teams demands. I learned the terrier and spider that way, before i was hardcore jav but im a decent spider.

But now pubs make me depressed. Someone needs to really think of a new ?go base. Hell, I just thought up two ideas, they wouldnt be too hard to do. Ive done manual you-pick-em events with zones ive worked with over the past few years plenty of times. I'm sure you guys could do it with bots and the highly organized staffing system you have, and seem to take for granted. As a former sysop, i would have given my left testicle to have staffers anywhere near the quality that TW possesses.

Theres no grey area anymore you're either right or wrong.

Mattey was a ZH and left because nobody would do anything when 2d has 5000ms (As a constant, and nobody can debate that, 100 people saw it) and every staff membered refused to act on it. Ara even put out a warning saying the next person to TALK about it is banned. That just shows you current staff, a smod is right and if you say anything to the contrary you're wrong. Since when is trench a zone where you can't speak your mind if you're not using anything but normal words, nothing racist, sexist or even anything blocked by ?obscene. Mattey didn't get enough props for stepping down.

I started the tradition of basing marathons way back when I was an ER. I always held either 8v8, 10v10 or 12v12 games, depending on the size of the base. When you host upwards of eight base arenas in a row, you can make sure that all forty of those people who showed up the first time get a chance to play by the eighth time.

2d is a sonofabitch. He absolutely doesn't deserve his staff position. Have you heard of 2dBot? Chances are you haven't. If you have though, have you seen it do ANYTHING yet? I know I haven't. What the fuck is he doing? Nothing. He's not developing anything. I highly doubt he handling many calls these days. He abuses his staff power so that he can lagcheat like a motherfucker. Whichever <ER> is hosting a base event should without a doubt limit the number of who can play. That, or either let captains pick a maximum of 2 javs and lock that ship so that everyone else can only enter as spider. Quality basing for the most part.
