why does ppl have to change their name when they get to become staff..
i mean.. for pauloakenfield.. (paul <zh>).. ppl will still know its him.. but the rest, half of these ppl.. i havent even heard of them.. why not just keep the original name so ppl will know who you are

Redlights, what do you wanna know about him, he's been around forever... Para = Parasect, Lynx <ER> was lnx <ZH>, Paul = PaulOakenfold, PoLiX <ZH> is the guy who runs http://(squad name).sscentral.com/ and http://www.ssforum.net/ i believe and has been staff in 2 other zones i think... i'm not sure about that. Mythic <ZH>... previous names were Goku2, British <ZH>.... and, yes.. Elsie is the nicest person ever... met her after she got on staff... i believe she used the name Lunar Crescens before, initials are LC ...LC = Elsie (sound it out )

90% of the staffers keep their original names... but a few (like many non-staffers who play the game), like a name change occasionally... it's not really something to get all worked up over.. and since you cant do anything about it, just accept it and move on...

The bad thing about changing your name when you become staff is that you can be confused with other people with similar names. A couple months ago I got the name 'Cy' so I switched my mod name in HZ to 'Cy+'; however there is a veteran there named 'Cyris' so everbody always confused me with him. I recently switched it back to 'Cylor+'.

So as far as switching names goes, it's better to keep your original name.

I always thought that there should be a single mod who has several names with mod powers, just random names that nobody knows (not all newbie names with numbers and symbols, but you get my point). Sort of a Main Banning Mod under whoever the current SMOD is in charge of bans. Could always warn as - TW Staff so people wouldn't figure out who the mod was. I dunno if this is feasable or not though.

Sounds like a good idea Nickname, think that is work for an bot to do, not log on as a name.

Although, if this idea is being inplented, be sure that someone can start a conservation through the bot about the how and why for the warn.

So you also have logs wich can be evidence for both the persons!

Edit: I can honestly say I have never heard of Elsie. A quick check on staff chat tells me that she is in fact real and mama threatened to axe me.
