And yes i support it by playing it, obviouslly. If none of us played it you wouldn't have TW. So everyone of us supports it. Even the people who cause the majority of the problems support the game, because without them you wouldn't have alot of the applications that SS has as a whole.



And no, it's not always public knowledge. I understand that cpt. didnt want to defeat the purpose of the bot by letting everyone know about it, but if you saw my original post before it was edited via rand, you would have seen the email i posted of him telling the rest of staff NOT to disclose any information about that bot to the public. That is what initially made me mad.

I didn't revise because I don't like comprimising what I oringinally say. Some people are mature enough to understand the context of a message may revolve around certain circumstances, that at the time, had great effect on what was being written.

No matter what you say, bottom line is this: My original post did not warrant such a responce from Pusher. I did not wish to pursue this thread further, my intention was to make the racism app public knowledge. It has gone this far, because I was personally attacked and talked down too by someone who used to represent the highest level of staff. You wanna fix the racism problems? you wanna fix any problems at all? start at the source, lets have staff set an example for a change. When that doesn't work, we can talk about programming bots to detect racist remarks.

To Staff: Don't take this too personally, it is more of a general comment, there are some of you that make this game a pleasure to play. But then again there are some of you who just don't.

I guess i should address your concerns since i was the one that programmed the pubbots.

The pubbots use a dynamic class loader exactly like the twbots. This means that modules may be created and loaded to expand the bots. It is my intention to create more modules for the bot to use to benifit the TW community. Currently the only module is the racism one which apparently everyone has heard about. This was more of a test to see if the dynamic class loader was functioning properly. Since it is quite easy to search a string for certain key words, i thought that it was a simple and semi useful test. If i wanted to make a real racism monitor, i would make it alot better than a simple keyword trigger.

Other ideas for the pubbots include:

- a !lag command so people can check eachothers lag, ping, ploss and spike
- the pure pub bot module
- keeping track of high bounties and storing them in a database. There are a fair number of people that wonder what the highest bounty in tw was.
- dynamic top 3 pub scores on the tw.org website. poor kjw has to input them manually every scorereset :S
- it could watch out for tks and either send a cheater or setship the person that is tking excessively

if you guys have any other ideas im all ears

these modules most likely will not be done very quickly due to the fact that im a little busy for the next little while.

i hope this clears up any confusion as to the nature of the pubbots

Contrary to popular belief, I do appreciate all you do and have done for the zone. Don't get me wrong, i believe you on staff is a plus, not a minus. I appreciate how you cleared that up the way you did, because it did not involve any personal remarks when in fact you are probably do for some. Beyond that, there are problems with the way things are run, you may not think so, i do, and im entitled to that. (Unless that becomes against the rules)

the process of incorporating these pubbots was done by the upper staff, if you have a complaint i suggest you take it up with them and stop blaming staff as a whole for these kind of things.

Whoops pressed edit instead of quote first time around...

Any zone-wide decisions are made by PriitK and DoCk. They make the decisions using whatever method it is that they make them with. The rest of upper staff has no say in zone wide policies, only on things where they are specifically allowed to so something about (i.e. the TWL coord gets to set the TWL rules, same with TWD). So again I have no idea what you're talking about.

The TW staff is wonderful. I have been a sysop at a small zone, 30 players or so, for 2 years. I've gone through bad times, good times, whatever, and I would give my left nut for staff half as competent (but twice as responsive) as the TW staff.
