Hmm, what would help is that during the mentioned 5 seconds, your ship would warp even if someone with antiwarp on would be in range. And if you get spawned the second time you warped...well you cant escape fate =)

I think you're right chewy. It IS a bug. It isn't a mather of 'get over it', it should be solved.

Adding nocount time would be good (not only being killed should be a nc, but also killing). Yet if you really want to solve this bug you have to go back to the beginning. What is the problem? It is the design of the maps.

For warbird games, it's quite simple: the respawn area should all over the map, not just the centre. (with the nocount-timer)

And for javs, the whole map is wrong. There are only 3 entries were 2 of them are deathtraps when alot of people are in the arena. i saw someone make a drawing in paint some time ago of a map wich is quite a good idea. It was something like this, wich could solve it.. at least its worth a try to test it

You leave a labtop in your car. Someone breaks into your car, gets the laptop. According to your sence it would be stupid to leave a laptop in your car. Reality is that noone has the right to steal your laptop. (real world is that you shouldnt have your laptop in your car, but this "subspace real world" can be altered by changing spawn rules)

In other words: get the big picture

Dude you are the first one who actually knows what I mean, and what I AM TRYING TO SAY. Thanks seal! I't's a bug, they shouldn't tell us to "get over it". If you say that I call it: CHOSING THE WAY OF THE LEAST RESISTANCE.

And Mattey, it's not that people who suck in the game are the only ones with the problem. People who just get positive records all the time don't give a shit, because they do good anyways, so why complain? Damn it would be scary if people don't get spawned anymore because Mattey is thinking: BAH, THERE GO MY FREE KILLS!

In legal terms it's called "invitation to liability” and, at least in the USA, it has been upheld many, many times. I believe the precedent setting case was a suit where a car thief successfully sued the owner of a car who left the keys in it. The car owner had dropped off his car at a repair shop early one morning but no one was there. He decided to leave the car parked out front and headed off to work. The car thief walked by, saw the keys in the car, stole it, and then proceeded to have a bad wreck a few miles down the road. He was seriously injured. He sued the car owner saying that by leaving the keys in the car he was negligent. He won the case and was awarded a large settlement.

So, at least the way the US law stands now, your example is not a good one.

(Note, I am not offering an opinion about this topic issue here, you guys may or may not be correct. My post is only about the example you gave.)

In my opinion, Chewy started a topic that, while although a legitimate topic, has been addressed in these forums over and over. This lead to several people flaming the thread. Chewy ‘countered’ by becoming abusive and even issuing threats. I wish the thread had been closed then. And I really wish that Cpt.Guano! hadn’t responded to this thread.
My fear is that we have rewarded an approach that attempted a solution in an inappropriate way.
So, for me, the ‘big picture’ is not about the well-known and worn out spawning issue, but rather the fact that it now appears that if someone comes on these boards, is belligerent and begins issuing threats, that this approach works.
