1) Why are you hiring newbies for staff ?
example: Icey <ZH>, CrimsonX <ER>

2) Why do you have people as staff who aren't doing anything?
example: aphix <ZH>, ren <ZH>

3) Why aren't you promoting people who are doing the best job?
example: Nockm <ER>, Rodge <ZH>

I agree with Dopey, some staff ppl now are very useless, or are useless at the posstion they are at.

Ppl like Buja X <ER> i luv him, but he dont host enuff to be an <ER>, he should be a mod or <ZH>. Icey isnt fit for <ZH>, he'd be a better <ER>, and so on. Rodge is doin a great job rite now as <ZH>, but if u'd put him at <ER> i dont think he's be as good as he is a <ZH>. I mean the ladder <ZH>--<ER>..mod..ect is good, but some ppl are not made out to be <ER>'s and such, some arent made out to be a <ZH>/mod but to host alot. Like in dsb, they got ER's and OPS(<ZH>/mod combine) They both hire differently, they dont have a ladder to go through. That way ppl who want to host, can host. Ppl who want to do help calls do help calls.

I like CrimsonX as a player/person, but i never see him host nething, maybe its time zone, but i am ona diff timse i'd havta see him. Same with buja, herc, paul o and such. Sure they host a little, but i think soemone like Icey who hosts there fair amounnt of Turretwarz as a <ZH> would make a better <ER> then them. Its not so much the ppl, its how ur using the ppl.

NOCKM is one of the great ERs today, so he shall stay, since he's doing such a good job (if it aint broke don't fix it). Same as Rodge, sure he'll someday be promoted to ER, but for now, he's doing an outstanding job answering help calls, so why change him just now?

As for me, I did better as a ZH, and liked it a lot more. The staff ladder isn't always accurate, promoting a ZH based on help calls to an Event Ref (a totaly different job) isn't always the way to go. I'm sure that the Deans take this into consideration however.

Ice Storm did the opposite of what TW staff says to do, wait and dont bug us. It appears that bugging the living fuck out of every staff member, radio host and twdev member got him ZH. CrimsonX is new, Dragon guard new and has ignored me in the past. Hes alright but hasn't hosted much of anything that I've seen. Those are really the only 2 people I see getting axed in the future. Aphix <ZH> is no longer on staff and I think Guano can't remove it off of the staff list or something, all I know he isn't there anymore.

I think most staffers are doing good, some have done some questionable things just to be there which is pretty pathetic but hopefully with Yomama!!! gone Push can clean up some stuff.

I dont think mama was the problem, staff was improving once P_L took over w/ mama.

And Paul tahts what i meant, i didnt mean in no way are u guys not fit for staff, i jsut think that u guys are more fit for different positions. AKa u as <ZH> instead of <ER>, Rodge seems better <ZH> / mod then <ER>. I think staff should consider taking away the "ladder" system, and if someone is better at <ZH> keep them there until they should be promoted to MOD rite away, dont go through the <ER> step. And Maybe keep some ppl at <ZH> for a shorter time, till they learn the commands fully, then put them to <ER>. PPL like me when i was staff, and herc and bam (last 2 <ER> now) all hosted tons as <ZH>, probably more then alot of the <ER>'s at that time. We should of been promoted to <ER> almsot rite away. We were more useful there then answering help calls. Keep the guys who enjoy help calls/modding to that, and ppl who enjoy hosting to <ER>'s

I've always thought the same thing as well, ciggy. Many people are much better ZH/Mods then ER's and vice versa. Forcing them to go up the ladder the way we have now, doesn't help the quality of staff. I'm aware that if you wanted to stay a ZH and go directly to mod, its possible, as I wanted to do that, however it takes nearly twice as long as going fron ER to Mod.

You're correct in saying many people are better off being a ZH or Mod, maybe because of their people skills, their liking to help the community in a differnt way, or simply becasue they like the job more. There are those however who like the feeling of being the center of attention, to get all the praise while hosting, and like making people happy in that way, that being the job of the ER.

What I would propose for the furture, and I do believe Push and Luck are doing a bit of now, is to analyze the people, not the job. I'm not going to mention names but there are most certantly people in TW Staff curently that would do better in a differnt position. The change, of course can't happen suddendly, it has to be gradual, and that can be expected.

I dont like the idea that people who aren't doing anything get staff and those who help a lot dont. There are Zh's who dont do anything so, i look forward to changes that might take place if Yojo's proposal works.

I don't want to have a go at Nyo <ER>, but I have never seen her/him/it host, in the 4-5 months her/him/its been a Event Referee, and I'm one of the most active guys in TW. I could just be in the wrong time zone

you are, she hosts around 10-12 PM EST, usually. So, that's like 5 in the morning where you are.

Sign me on as a <ZH> so I can stop bitching about the horrible response times and general lack of knowledge of the current crop. Plus, it'd keep me busy since I really don't care to play much at all anymore.

ya yojo i hope it does happen , i didnt want to name neone either and im sry to those i did, but u guys were mere examples. I just see how its done in DSB, and it seems work fairly well, i mean they dont have the same situation we got, but its a decent formula to go by. ANd yojo i was aware that u could go from <ZH> to mod, but i saw how long it took spider and i know it takes 2 times as long as goin from <ZH> to <ER> to mod. Im not saying <ER>s wont enjoy being mod, bc u can host as a mod to, but its mainly the <ZH>/<ER> thing. Some <ER> are more helpful as a <ZH> and some current <ZH> are more helpful as an <ER>, but dont hold that as a time limit to get mod.

U could keep them the same level. Like <ZH> is known as the "lowest" level rite now, make it <ZH>/<ER> are even in level. When u hire someone ask if there main goal is to host, or help ppl w/ help calls and such. Then if they want to host make them an <ER> rite away, but limit the arenas they get power in like u do with the <ZH> till u trust them with everything.

i second that... but the fact is.. most people in tw has this "ER > ZH" idea buried deep down in their mind. so when you ask questions like that, i can bet 90% will say they want to be an ER.

ZHs and ERs should be treated equallyl. just different functions. Like accountant and computer program. you can't really say who's greater than who.

Well goin off of DSB again. There is in my mind alot more "Op's" then "ER>'s", but i believe ops can bann in DSB, so that is different. But that thought did cross my mind, alot more will want to be <ER>, but asking was just a suggestion, i cant do all the thinking, im sure push/p_L could think of a way to determine who deserves which. PPl who play pub and base generaly like to do help calls more, ppl who play baseelim/elim and like to be "ELITE" normaly like to host more. That is my general theory. I didnt think this plan well out, but its some basics which i think could help out.
