I was having some pretty bad packetloss, around 50 % for the past few days. I did fix it eventually, I found out that my brother was changing the cable wires around. I had the main coaxial connection going into a 2 way splitter to a 3 way splitter. He moved the modem connection to the second splitter which caused my connection to go below 200 kbps and at sometimes lower... running at 3mb now . So if anyone wants to send a lag report, make sure your network is working efficiently so you dont waste dock's time.

Complaining about lag without sending in a lag report is useless. *cough*

ICMP is a protocol, like TCP, so it has nothing to do with opening a certain TCP port. The firewall simply filters on ICMP packets and blocks them.Last edited by Fallen Angel; 11-24-2004, 12:13 PM.There's no place like 127.0.0.1

I used to lag very badly. Then I realized that the guy I shared internet with had unlimited uploads on his p2p software. When he changed his upload settings, my lag instatly went away. I never thought he could completely max out my cable, but he did. If you're on a network with someone... I wouldn't put it past them that they are draining your internet connection.3:PEGASiS> double u tee ef?

I don't know why or how it can be prevented, but my DSL connection alters between two traces.
Trace A (the initial trace I got from the day I got DSL, which goes through Dallas and Washington D.C. through a more direct route apparently and gives me my normal lag of 110-120 MS),
Trace B (which goes through 168.103.*.* & 205.171.*.* traces only [about 8 of the latter] and gives me the higher lag amount of 160-170 MS)
Since the time I've gotten my DSL about a month and a half ago, it's been doing Trace A for the first week, (110-120 MS), then Trace B 2nd and 3rd week (160-170 MS), Trace A the 4th week and a half (110-120 MS), and now again Trace B the last week and a half, and is still on it (160-170 MS).
The annoying part about this is that it only happens with SSCU Trench Wars and SSCU 17th Parallel. The other zones always stay at the same low lag (90 MS)Awesome> i'm 20.. and definately bigger than you... where do you live, if i ever take a vacation there i'll come beat you up 7:Ripper> hahah
