    Point taken. I guess it comes down to whether or not you plan on recycling your PC or upgrading it to take advantage of the better RAM.

        Do you really need to mess with jumper settings? Should be plug in, turn on, see that memory is there.

        Are you trying to add one or replace?

        The larger RAM might have to go in the slot the original one was in.

          I'm good to go, and it was just as ez as everyone said. Thanks again. I stopped by Fry's earlier this morning, and went with Rab's suggestion of the pc 3200 512 ddr.

          I was asking about jumper settings because on the sales form that Frys makes you sign about their return policy, the section on memory said that if you fuck up the jumper settings during installation, that voids the return.

          After some quick researching on the net, I didn't think it applied to my 2 yr old system. I just popped that bad boy in there, and it booted right up, nice and quick.

                I have 768 ddram too, ain't that hot.
                help: (how do i shot) (Public 0): how do i travel diagonally? i only have up, down, left and right keys.

                    Yeah my first RAM upgrade was from 256 to 768 and its a huge difference.
