Thank you, Variable--I agree with all your points. I want people to know that I'm not bashing Linux. I work with it every day (as well as Windows XP/2000/NT/etc, IRIX, HP-UX, OS X and PowerMAX), and there are a lot of times where using Linux (without X) is completely useful. Hell, half of the time that I'm working on 2000/NT servers, I'd kill for a simple syslog or two. I even love the command line interface--I'm a child of DOS, what can I say?

What I am saying is that most people (MS fanboys included) wage a war of attrition between themselves using stupid, unproven rhetoric rather than actual fact.

Of course, I guess you could say that about most things.

Shaddap =D yer services aint workin' cause i havnt even installed it, plus cogent dumped the serves so you know why there was this downtime.
I'm a busy man, and your a whiny client what ya need services for, you only have 0-10 people idling in your ircd.

snrrubspace (or what the heck his name was) was making a ss client for Linux. It was looking good, but priitk refused to let ssnurrbspace work on SSC servers (cont only). So the coder stopped working on it, it's still on beta somewhere, i tested it. Not playable tho, chat only.

Macs are great pieces of kit, but unless your into heavy graphic design/poster design/3d design, or anything considerably huge in photoshop then there is little point in them.

You can get windows emulators for them, but then it decieves the point of the Mac.

And now adays there is no advntage with a mac, as the newest P4 chips (3.06 with HT) can match them more or less in the speed department. And windows XP pro is stable enough.
