Map Creation

The point of this is to find out HOW THE HELL YOU CREATE MAPS!! I dont think the map creation is a problem. i.e. lvl & .ini and tiling. but...if I want to create one of those...uhh ?go maps (Im a noob btw...about 40 hours usage) then .........well...........HOW??....I spent ages downloading server software..and Im still nowhere. Im fact I think it put the car in reverse. :eek:

If you want your map to be hosted on the trenchwars server you need to send it to someone on tw staff, maybe 2dragons. check the address on trenchwars.org

To make your own arena you must download the Subspace Map Editor. You can find this at the following location: http://www.trenchwars.org/Trench/downloads/ssme81a.zip. TileEdit is also a useful tool and can be downloaded here: http://www.trenchwars.org/Trench/dow.../tileedit.zip. To submit a completed map to be posted on SSCU Trench Wars, please email it zipped, along with a set of rules and description to Arilou Lalee Lay at: twmaps@twsites.com.

This is only for maps that you want to be uploaded on TW! If you want it on your own server, i advice you go to www.shanky.com/server and look at the guides and tips there!

Also if you want to check your map out before sending it in you can do it also. Just download Subspace 1.35 here (it's the file called Client 1.35).
Install Subspace 1.35 and in the same folder you installed it in place your map there and name it local.lvl
Then start up the game and chose to play "Practice Offline".

The settings will not be the ones of Trench Wars but you will be able to fly around on the map and check that everything is like it is supposed to be.

To get it on tw, just email it to someone on the twdev team, they'll bring it up on the forum and after that possibly put the arena up.

they usually take too long though, it's best just to use ss 1.35

I sended my map like 2 weeks ago and I still didn't got an answer with the message it got approved or it got rejected. So did you guys blocked me or somethign
