Actually it won't happen if we don't like it, generally thats how things work here in this game.

When the roster cap comes into effect I've already said I'll be stepping up to create a squad for new and old players to twd. I see absolutely NO reason for anyone to be whining about this because its going to happen, whether you like it or not but like Zeebu said, its down to the players themselves to start picking up some weight and start managing some squads.

Zeebu is also right on.

i guess i will restate the biggest problem with this:
we dont have enough willing and able caps to support a bunch of squads, let alone the playerbase to support those caps
i know what you want to do. force these megasquads to break up and form more squads instead. ideally, a roster of 70 would split up into 2 squads of 35. this wont happen. the roster of 70 will axe 35. those 35 that were axed, some will join the squads that are running smooth enough and be fine. id gather that most will just stop playing twd altogether for a while. if youre being axed for inactivity or being a newb, you arent going to cap a squad that is worth anything. its stupid to think these guys will.
the only thing i can suggest is that if you are for this change, you should be the one starting and capping a squad. you cant expect people that didnt want this change to happen to do all the heavy lifting. you like this change? prove it and start your own squad. pick up the people that are getting axed left and right.

35 is a bit radical and 45 makes insignificant difference. roster limit of 40 would be worth a try at least

if there were more people out there willing to make newb/training squads like royst then this roster cap wouldn't really be an issue, but there isn't...
maybe a roster cap at 45 would work as it gives captains a bit of leniency towards some of their more inactive players. Someone earlier in this thread stated that the issue at the moment is too many squads with 60+ players; but isnt forcing squads to cut 25+ players a bit too much? I guess I'm just worried I'm going to get axed from pene as I abuse zhou

You can always wait and see for a few weeks how this develops, TWL is still some time away so enough time to adjust these new TWD roster limits if needed. You can also start investigating other extra options, like a 35 people roster cap, with an additional 5 extra spots for inactive/veteran players, or a pool of somekind, where you have 5 players on a shortlist, who will be added when someone on the main 35 people roster leaves the squad. Instead of recruiting a new player the squad will be forced to add someone from the shortlist to the 35 people roster. Anyway, there are multiple ideas on how to make this easier or more interesting for squads. Creating a training squad is also a very good option and should encourage new players to start playing TWD; they can play vs. their 'mothersquad', set up training matches and learn from twding vs their mothersquad and other squads. Training squads could start playing eachother more and adapt to the TWD playing style more easily. Also, this will be a good test for captains out there to handle this situation; do they have what it takes or not to be a successful captain and succesfully manage their squad ánd roster? We will find out soon enough...

If you want more squads to form you should try making it so that only one person can be captain of a squad. So the only choice players with fat egos are left with is to make their own squad to have higher power.

Maybe we should just give this a few weeks and see where the chips fall. Maybe somebody else could do what royst decided to do with tenure. Right now tenure gets double the games (and actually probably tighter ones) because they've actually got another training squad to play against. That was our main issue before - we just couldn't play newb vs newb matches since no other squad played newbs. If the roster cap doesn't work out at least we've gotten rid of the impatient teenagers!

I am not in favor of this personally. I mean Paladen will manage but squads like ours has run on semi active decent players for a long time. I think all this will wind up doing is discouraging the semi active players even more from playing because many will have to be axed over active players. At least make it 50 or something mehhh
