We are getting warmed up and second week offered some very tight games, some trades already working for teams and not for other teams. Let's see how it all went:
JAV:
PERFECT WEEKEND
Dice (2-0)
Dice continued their great shape gaining 2 more wins. Having now also jamal online, first game against Pure Luck was pretty much domination with solid performances across the board. It was very interesting to see how they would do vs Prime, one of the most anticipated matches of jav weekend, as Prime until then was also undefeated. But Dice showed no remorse getting as clear win as against PL with all their top 4 (okyo, temu, jamal, stayon) easily overcoming rabbit!s unusally poor performance. Dice looks like more and more top favorite for the title, if team keeps active and in such a great shape. No wonder 3 of their javs are among top 6 jav pilots this season.
Pwned nl (2-0)
Pwned of course was the team with that controversial autoloss in round 1, so they were really eager to bounce back from it and they surely did that in both games. Their top 4 (commodo, creature, riverside, mikkiz) were in great shape. Bad Badger made a massive impact subbing Captor (0-6) and going 5-1 in later phases of the game, where it was still open. Their second games was closest jav match of weekend. They started in similar lineup and once again subbed Captor (this time while he was 2-5). Bad Badger once again had a great game going 8-5. In the end Pwned had 3vs2 situation against fieryfire and lee and although PL managed to take out creature/bad badger, Riverside had a massive game with final kill and mvping 18-9.
Monster (2-0)
Monster of course surprised everyone week 1 losing both of their games. But favorites showed they got, what it takes in week 2 with 2 clear wins. Top 4 of rampage, geio, bombed, rough with low vp clark kentaro were in lineup as they played force. Rampage was taken out first with Monster forced to play 4v5 for a while, but remaining roster stayed calm and collected and more decisive in final stages of game. Pretty much same happened in second game vs power with exception of Rampage dying out much later in game and not really causing any issues while rest of team was once again solid in crucial moments. Well deserved wins, best still nowhere to be seen.
SO-SO
Prime (1-1)
Prime started weekend being undefeated in jav and demolished terrorist in first game without any issues with Racka going mvp, and jurassic, havok, skatarius and spirit all playing well as well. Highly expected game vs Dice proved to be somewhat splash of cold water for Prime. Skatarius was pretty much only one on team having a good game, while poor performances from racka (4-10), havok (5-10) and low star spirit (5-10) showed there is still work to do for them to claim the title.
Force (1-1)
Force started of week with yet another loss, as despite mythril trying his best (17-10 mvp performance) unusally bad morph (2-10) and bacon (4-10) performance, combined with low star refers (2-8) performance just gave them no chance against mentally strong monster.
But second game vs one of the weakest jav teams this season Terrorist, force finally showed solid performance, with morph having good mvp game with 15-8, low star CZ doing better than refer in first game and good sub in replacing kangal with spectacular giving them their first win of season. Those points could become crucial in later stages of league deciding who makes it to playoffs.
BAD WEEKEND
Power (0-2)
Power roster setup really does not give them much firepower in jav and it was clear in this weekends games against pwned and monster. Zidane and yeh being only 9+ players and jabra playing like a 10* only in every 7th game makes them vulnerable. Both games vs pwned nl and monster were really not down to someone choking, but team just not being on level as opponents. If this strategy of being power-house in base works out (as they still need points in all leagues to make it) in long term, time will tell.
Terrorist (0-2)
Terrorist is very similar as power in terms of setup. They just miss the top players in jav. With only maketso/dw himself being 9+, opponents roll over them. Just like this weekend, they had no chance against prime losing with 16 and despite playing better against force, still none of the players even got to positive score in the end. So dreamwin has to have same thoughts as zidane, will the base-gamble pay off or if there is still some time for trading.
Pure Luck (0-2)
Already first weekend showed PL has issues with jav and unfortunately big trade (iron for cape) didnt have much influence yet on PLs performance as Cape was not to be found. His presence will surely improve PL chances of winning games, but in big picture, they also miss those 9+ stars in jav. First game vs Dice really gave no chance to PL, second game was much closer and was winnable, but losing tiny (5-10) and having to play 2v3 with one of them being low vp, made end game really difficult. On positive side, fieryfire and hulk had good games and maybe with capes presence PL can still turn this into a positive league for tinys crew.
BASE
PERFECT WEEKEND
Power (2-0)
2 powerhouses of base continued their dominant games as zidanes team remains undefeated this season. First game against Force though showed that on a good day, Power can be vulnerable, as game went until last seconds and ogrons ability (who subbed jabra somewhere midway in game as terrier) to stay alive proved crucial. Zid/willby sharks and spiders cripple (once again doing mad numbers with 145 kills) renzi, sword, spawni and dad played well enough to win. Second game against pwned was back to complete dominance with cripple winning honorable Henry Salaami for going 112-18!. As long as power manages to get a few wins here and there in duelling, they remain as top favorite for base title.
Terrorist (2-0)
Our second formidable base team terrorist continued terrorizing opposition with 2 clear wins against pure luck and prime. In both games opponents got only 5 mins of flag-time, so pretty one-sided games. Terrorist also has the luxury of really choosing among 4 different sharks (joe/omega/mvp/zapata) who all got some gametime as well over weekend, meaning they are not really vulnerable with bad showups, spiders dw/captain lonestar, ft, lockdown and christian play really well as well.
SO-SO
Dice (1-1)
Dice continued their last week flawless games with tight win against pwned nl. Pressure played really well as terrier (51-2), ph/azuline continued their aggressive style and jamal appearing as spider (158! kills) with okyo, rabbit!, shaun and dak proved to be good enough for that 30 second win.
But then in second game against Pure Luck, dice's undefeated streak ended. Dice never really got the game going, showing that perhaps their strong record in base is also somewhat down to having easier schedule in first part of league and it may not be as clear water going further. Looking at data it came mainly down to spiders being dominated by PL team with 2 (shaun/dak) actually going negative. So some thinking for stayon here.
Monster (1-1)
Monster had poor first week of base, but were really looking forward facing weakest base team so far, Prime in their first game. Cintra in terrier, mark/cig as sharks and bombed/rucci/rampage/mouse/nbside domu spiders did good enough to take the win with Bombed being mvp. Second game vs force though showed their shortcomings with bick playing and rough entering for rucci. Monster just couldnt cope with opposing spiders and lost in clear manner, showing that base still remains a weakness for Rampage and the boys.
Force (1-1)
Force lined up against Power with little hope, but spooked as terr, morph/myth as sharks and hellkite/bacon/refer/absurd/siaxis spiders were really close to surprise only missing the win by mere 20 seconds. In second game vs Monster though, Force showed their strength taking clear win. Think Force currently is probably strong mid-table team in base, above Prime/Pwned/Monster, but still missing a bit to fight the top 3.
Pure Luck (1-1)
Pure Luck had Rainbow seeker finally showing, which improved their game quite a bit. It was definitely not enough against Terrorist, a game they clearly lost, but PL did dominate and had a clear win vs previously undefeated Dice, with tiny as terrier, rodney/aprix as sharks and rainbow, sarger, aprix, hulk and 100 as spiders. With 4 games played, PL has only 1 win, but 2 of those games have been against top basing teams Power/Terrorist, so i think PL base performances will get better from now on, especially if Cape will also make appearances.
BAD WEEKEND
Prime (0-2)
Prime difficulties in base continue as they are only team without a win after this weekend. They fought well against monster, and were powerless against terrorist with ekko as terrier, vehicle/menel as sharks and spiders in jurassic/skatarius/iron survivor/rasaq and spirit. So yea, a bit weaker sharks, some issues with lower rated spiders just make them miss that edge they need to really give great games.
Pwned nl (0-2)
Pwned first game was that neck-to-neck battle against Dice, which they only lost by 30 seconds. Mikkiz as terr, riverside/commodo shark duo did well, but they had some spidering issues with bad badger, tj and retro keeping their starting lineup spot, but creature/aiti replaced midgame by turban and hercules. In any case their spiders in the end were badly outkilled. Second game agaisnt power they tried bad badger as shark with henri saari taking spider role, but that game was completely hopeless with pwned only getting a few minutes flag time. For now pwned remains one of the weakest base teams around.
WARBIRD
PERFECT WEEKEND
Prime (2-0)
Prime continued their dominance also this weekend. First beating Force comfortably, with new trade iron going mvp alongside rasaq, jurassic, racka and spirit and then beating pure luck with even more ease with racka this time taking the mvp throne. With addition of iron survivor to ranks, Prime really looks very solid in wb and remains only undefeated team in this league and biggest favorite for the title.
Pwned nl (2-0)
Pwned had 2 rather easy games this weekend. First getting clear win against one of the weakest wb teams terrorist with bike going amazing 20-5 to compensate turbans early KO in game. Captor also pulling a good low vp performance with 8-6. Second game vs Monster was even easier, resulting in largest domination across weekend with +20 in final score with turban doing great this time with 17-8. Pwned only loss this season has come from Prime this season, so things are looking good for bike.
SO-SO
Dice (1-1)
After facing loss in base, their undefeated streak came to end also in wb getting dominated by monster. Shaun managed a remarkable 0-10 and going out before 7 minute mark, which team just could not cope with. Shaun was replaced by pressure in next game vs force and did a bit better, they were also helped by stinkers from bacon/absurd from opposing side having numerical advantage for a while. In the end the tight game was won by okyo/dak/jamal managing to overturn 3v4 in final phases while surviving at 9 deaths. So close win, but still a win, but questions about low vps and also the 4th player (neither azuline or stayon did good) for team.
Power (1-1)
Power started wb weekend with clear loss to pure luck team. Lining up only 40vps, they suddenly got massive lead in the beginning (something like 9-1), but once PL started teaming better were ultimately on the losing side with cripple as best performer. In second game of weekend, 2 probably weakest wb teams faced each other and Power got a crucial win vs Terrorist. Cripple once again mvpd, but zidane, ogron, rabbit and sword put up good enough game to take out dreamwins team. Very important win in otherwise grim league for Power.
Monster (1-1)
Monster surprised everyone week 1 by doing much better in wb compared to jav. They continued their good shape in wb against Dice with bombed stealing the show with 15-9 and rest of team supporting well. Same team lined up against pwned as well with geio, rough, clark kentaro and bick as low vp making up the lineup. But pwned really rolled over them, giving monster their first loss in wb. But 3 wins already in wb is good result for Monster and they are bound to get a few more in future although some tough features are coming up.
Pure luck (1-1)
Superstar rainbow seeker showed up and Pure Luck was already on different level in their first game vs power. Rainbow pulled a great 18-9 mvp performance, while rest of team tiny, hulk, flew and lee also played well, despite some early struggles. In second game against Prime though and their 45! star lineup, PL managed to keep to even until mid-game. Tiny had a poor game with 3-10 and in later phases PL was rolled over.
BAD WEEKEND
Terrorist (0-2)
Terrorist looks to have weakest wb team of all and loss against power keeps them as only team without a single win in this league. Lining up with zizu, christian, dreamwin, zapata and lockdown, they couldnt find medicine against pwned nl in first game or power in second. Loss to power must have been even more demoralizing as they were actually 2vps better in original lineup. Lets see if some players manage to improve or terrorist will have hard time getting a single win in wb this season.
Force (0-2)
Force was the unlucky team of this weekend. First facing Prime with what looks as pretty good lineup of mythril, morph, siaxis, raazi and cz, they lost raazi early on in game and Prime took advantage of that. Second game vs dice was definitely winnable, but bacon was already 0-5 before 3 minute mark and his sub absurd didnt do much better going 1-5 and out before 7 minute mark. But force fought until the end, raazi, morph and myth all had good games, but lost with final battles. So unfortunate weekend and some individual bad performances gave bad taste to siaxis for sure.
Games to watch in week 3?
Jav first game: Dice the jav leaders are facing pwned, shared second place holders. Can dice keep their undefeated streak going?
Jav second game: 2 basing teams power and terrorist face off in jav, with every point crucial for them, who will take this one?
Base first game: Undefeated power, who showed their weakness a bit faces Pure Luck, who may have also cape in ranks and very formidable spider setup to face the 3 10*. Can tinys team pull a surprise?
Base second game: Prime may have a chance against pwned nl, will they score their first base win?
WB first game: Monster and pure luck seems the most equal game on paper, which can easily go until final moments.
WB second game: top teams dice and pwned nl meet in who would become closest threat to Prime in wb competition.
