Just like if i was a captain and i thought 5 spiders was my best lineup i should be able to play that.

By keeping the spider limit unlimited, you're in fact limiting other squads to 5 spiders, unless of course they want to lose. It's no longer about a strategical issue, it's about having more diverse lineups compared to one lineup (5 spiders).

oddly enough, I think you're wrong. All the squads that use 5 spids seem to want to ban the 5 spid line. It's twisted and I don't understand it.

That those squads found out that cramming with 5 spiders was at that point the strongest strategy doesn't mean they like it. They play to win. They obviously agree that it would be more fun if you could win with more than 3 ships.

The few topsquads with great javs (I think there is only two) could easily practice more on attacking the cram and defending with the cram with a jav.
If you find the right strategy you can blow up a cram in no-time and then blow up the attacking force with the jav so much faster.
But just like the sharks in a cram, the timing should be close to perfection.
I am sure that there are a few pilots that would be able to master this.
So those squads wouldn't mind playing versus 5 spiders. The squads that can't bring such a jav have to get along with the 5 spider lineup. Or need limits.

This is semi off topic, but I put it here rather than create a new post.

You notice that there are 3 polls up right now, all dealing with the same league, which isn't even the most popular league, and i've heard may have issues fielding 16 teams.

Ever thought about the issues with TWLD/LJ - both could use a map overhaul (LD especially) and both could have other thigns done to improve them, like bringing back the best of 3 rounds. But I guess when all TWL Upper Staff does is base, thats all that gets attention.

TWLB is is the real league it's what tw is for real, it's just too hard for newbies they can only shark. that why ld and lj are more popular and hopefilly these new votes get accepted and it makes more ppl join to twlb! it's only real league where lag doesn't help that much. and there is less whining than in other leagues.

And jebu, most of what u said is rite, but u still have to remember regardless ther is 2 other leagues who need some work and kinks worked out of them, and htey arent getting any attention.

And Paul, thats not exactly true, when i was on RB a fairly good basing squad vs Pallies another fairly good basing squad, they played a wb and a jav. We played 4 spid+ a jav, yet they creamed us bc they owned lower w/ the jav/wb. If they can do it im sure anyone else can do it.

Cig 5 spiders vs 4 spiders is different than 4 spiders vs 3 spiders. And Pallies are different than RB.. and TWD is different than leagues.

But its all basicaly the same. What im saying is they still had -1 spider then us, and it wasnt really seen that they were outspidered at all. Whats teh difference between 5 spiders vs 4 spiders? its still only 1 spider diference. And as i seen with pallies jav, he did much better then any 5th spider would do.

Uhm.. Pallies have a couple of the best spiders in the game, not being outspiderd with 1 spider less isnt something out the extraordinaire for them.

After getting the basic jist of basing down, you'll be fine. You'll get tossed in a spider, and you'll throw up a wall of fire in the general direction of the enemy. A spider in a group of spiders doesn't need any aim, thats already been proven. Newbies continue to join TWLB because it's an easier leageu than the other 2 to get in, theres always new squads coming up with a willingness to teach you how to base, anf there aren't even 16 teams that can, so it's not hard to become decent in. Basing has MORE lag than the other 2 leagues put together.

Might be harder for new players to see what baser it good and who is not. in duel one just looks at the score and says: Hey man that guy sucks. In basing it's easier to put the blame on other people.
That doesn't mean basing doesn't involve skill. The differences between good and bad basing squads is huge and it's not getting any smaller.
Third: I feel that most new squads to turn up are duelling squads. Just look at the amount of squads shown on the twdd ladder and compare it with the amount of squads on the twbd ladder.
Personally I think basing involves more skill, from the players also but mainly from the captains, who need to see who actually is a good baser and who only claims to be one.

I agree with u that it takes more effort for the captain, not the players. It is ezier to base especialy if ur alreayd a dueler. Sure u mite not be a top notch spider, but u can atleast do it. For a captain of a basing squad, especialy 1 jsut starting out it takes alot outa ya, u gotta constantly keep an eye on everything everyone does, bc u need active and willing basers, and u probably need a big roster.
