Well i personaly suck in wb in base i would never play myself in it unless i was really needed to, but i must admitt there aer some ppl who cant duel worth a dime in WB but can basebird good. Im not sure why really. But bram is rite once again (always rite!) that most ppl who are dueling wb's can become atleast affective basebirds bc of there aim/dodge skils.Kuuk is good, but he lags like a slut, same with Hirluin.

I don't think any of these people are really any better than a random person playing basebird... The only people that are being mentioned are people that play it a lot, or are known for playing it a lot in the past.

Anyone can do good as a basebird, because just being near the enemy terr makes everyone go nuts, and it isn't that hard to pick them off. You can also take a lot of hits because they recharge is so fast.

Saying "anyone can play base warbird" is like saying "anyone can run the 50 meter dash." Yeah, sure, we can all get there in the end. Some of us are better at it than others, though. It may come down to some very fine points, but when the shit goes down, those fine points separate the difference between a dude who dissapears on the grid and a dude who fucks up the game's tempo.

It's not as straightforward as you guys are making it out to be, either. In any given situation, there is the same opportunity for choice or personal discretion that any other ship offers. I see birds in base and think they're showing just as much individual personality in the way they play that spiders, sharks, and terrs show. Jav might be a better exception, but I'd put warbird up there in the "well, there isn't a set plan so let's just watch and see what this guy does" class.

In short, couldn't disagree more when you say "warbirds are all kind of the same" and "anyone can play warbird" in base. I haven't been watching the ?go base games recently, so feel free to update me on current trench wars trends. In leagues, however, there wasn't a single ship more prone to success or failure based in large part on the pilot.

As to the topic, there have been a few warbirds that have bowled me over. FieryFire is a shitface, but he was sick for cripples. Arclog as well. Banjo Man did his fair share of damage for ZH. Domi doesn't miss. In the end, though, you have to give it up to D. Rides. He's the Ron Artest of base warbirding. He lights up any game he's playing in, and if you ask any terr from leagues in the last two seasons, they'll put him at the top of their "I'd really rather not play against him" list.

Rusty? Go get your fucking shine box. He's got a third eye trained on all four elements that make up eight-man basing, and at this point it's a race for second place in the number one ship. All aboard.

I mostly agree.. anyone CAN do good in a base bird, but so many people don't. everyone thinks they can do it, but then half the people that get in a bird find a camping spot and play it the same as a shitty spider.
