umm, looking at the video you actually were in middle of respawning while you did that command .. you died, did two switches to clear mines (which is also abuse), and attached back. If you had made it into a macro or typed faster, you would've attached invisible.

Chill. This video was given to me off forums by someone hesitant to post it themselves out of fear of ridicule. I have expressed multiple times in this thread that I have not taken a stance. I simply want to see the most informed decision be made after all possibilities are considered. I felt it was important to provide footage of similar ship changes being used to a team's benefit beyond merely changing a ship (eg, clearing dangerous mines).

Fire or Plade would make formidable finals opponents. I'm not afraid of either of you. I just wish all this drama didn't occur because now no matter what, unless Fire wins, you guys will try to ruin the perception of this season forever.

Please start watching at approximately 20:20. The biggest difference between the above example and the current appeal would be the difference in impact on game outcome. However, the same "cheat" was employed in this recording by the captain who made the recent appeal, so it is worth reviewing.

The only reason u took around 5 seconds was because u didnt type faster, or you would have attached as invisible, unknowingly. First change took 2/3 seconds, second took 2/3 more seconds and u instantly attached as soon as you were a shark. Im pretty sure you werent clocking this whole thing for 5 seconds for the sake of the league's integrity.

This just shows that ship changing fast can make this happen, not necessarily on purpose.

Also this, the only reason you were able to clear mines was because u died and had those seconds. Im pretty sure you wouldnt try the ship change in the middle of an intense flagroom fight without this neat trick. Doing this made u attach AND clear mines during ur death timer, which you can debate is abusing this glitch.

in the end it is abusing bot mechanics which should not exist in the first place. it's that simple, and sadly a lot of times when these switches are done the sharks end up joining the fray while being invisible for a short duration. you would have also immediately attached had you either written faster or created a macro, don't even attempt to argue otherwise.

and it looks like both of us can finally agree that this is something that has been used by players for past 20 years -- both ship changes and switches alike -- and has been considered as acceptable behavior by the community for some reason. it is a well-known issue by the community that you could switch and change ships while you are still in middle of respawning, and anyone who has actually played this game (and put some thought into it) knows how respawning mechanic works.

however, in the end it is still abusing a design flaw with the bot to gain an unfair advantage over the opposing team and needs to be fixed.

So what you are saying is that bypassing the death timer and clearing mines is fine, but bypassing the deathtimer as a jav is not fine? The only difference is the ship and the fact that dreamwin doesnt have fat fingers.
