Spastic vs. Mambo - rematch from the semis last year. This season Mambo beat Spastic, last season spastic beat mambo so ig uess this is the best out of 3 scenario. I'm going with mambo because they're not arrogant newbies who got lucky one year by having no life and practicing 24 hours a day while the rest of us were taking it easy during the summer.

Nor do I call writing up detailed prediction threads w/% correct spending "having no life and predicting 24 hours a day while the rest of us were taking it easy during the summer."

I don't expect you to give us any credit but it wasn't luck. The pracitcing 24/7 is laughable, I doubt we were on anymore then any other squad.

You beat a horribly underachieving third rate Light team, played a tough game in mambo, and beat Disoblige -- a team that didn't practice at all and had trouble beating Elusive. I wouldn't call the diso from those finals any better or worse than the diso that got a negative record this year in TWLB.

you're the guy that doesn't play but hangs out on onlien forums right? I love how you're telling me I have no life. My total prediction spent time per week in less than 30 minutes, it takes all of 15 seconds to go over how i did for the week before and the only thing that takes any time is writing out which team will beat who and why.

No way you can prove that, just nonsense talk. But I guess if you beat everyone, you practice 24/7. Diso was stupid for playing a jav in the first game and second they got shitfaced and couldn't do anything about it. You'll say the same thing if someone like Incuria or a no name squad wins it.

Disoblige vs. Grapevine - I love playoff matches, they're so much more fun to watch but i also hate playoff matches, they're so much harder to predict. I was on melee when they lost in the TWLD finals last year, and as GV is made up of the core of the old melee i feel i know them pretty well. These are awesome guys who are very talented (and some of them lag worse than this guy we all know from turkey). That being said they're just as good as last year, but i'd venture to say not better, as they lost a few starters and only really picked up Mega Newbie (perhaps the best dueler in subspace that has a shitty name, Asnwarbird56 care to disagree?) Disoblige is never to be underestimated though. They may not have the "big wb names" but we all know how capable they are, and with the right attendance can roll into a TWLD championship this year. I hate to see either of these teams go, but someones got to lose, and Disoblige tends to always have one guy choke, and if/when it happens I do not believe they'll be able to field a good sub. Could go either way, i'm saying Grapevine by 7+.

Sk8 vs. Grapevine - Now this will be boring. A game very few will care about between two non-real-contenders (thats the new term). A close match but in the end it probably won't matter. I'm going to go with Grapevine though, because they're name is way longer. GV by 6 (how many letters longer the name is, oh and fuck numbers (especially a2m))

i'm not usually one to be like "omg, you predicted something and it's totally wrong and stuff and ya, i hate you, i'ms o good" etc. . .

but i'll just give you a heads up, maybe you want to change your vote or spread or somethin. i dont want you puttin money on this and losing both times and hating my squad. . .

melee's starters last season:
anon, archer, connection, foreign, randedl. froedrick, smurf and cumulonimbus would have been our subs. i hope i'm not forgetting anybody. . .

grapevine this season:
anon, archer, foreign and randedl are all with us, albeit 2 are inactive and 1 went 1-6 against pallies. but yeah, add the aforementioned mega newbie, add tys, add weaver, add deck, add metalkid add stuckup and add alot more depth. . . i'm the only person that has started consistantly for season 7 melee and season 8 grapevine. and what a surprise, i was captain on both? the only starter you say we lost i kind of axed, which i kind of regret, but life goes on - and yeah, he hasn't been very active this season either.

while some of the people on grapevine were on melee with me, the majority of those didn't play 1 twl game with melee and i think that you will see that our playoff lineups will look alot different than anything melee fielded last season.

and yah, about your jav prediction i'll put money on you being wrong.

Everyone, step off of nick's nuts. I don't know why he does his predictions, but it's more interesting than 90% of what the rest of you type, so let him do it.

But I'm also sick of hearing how spastic just got lucky last season. They were a tough team and they mowed down other tough teams. Maybe they got some breaks, but that's the nature of this game. They came and consistently played a strong game, and that's all any team can do.

I actually play ... but more like once every so often. As for posting ... I like to keep up with friends and see what's happenin in the only game I've played for 3+ yrs (I'm not a game fanatic and ss was/is the only game I play). And my pt wasn't to say you have no life ... it was to show you that you freakin contradict youself when you call the ppl who spend time on a game losers when you play this game as much as any spastic, diso, pallie, inc, mambo, etc ... why don't you just call them all losers for praccing?

Melee had a free pass into finals last season by being in the super weak conference before we had cross-conference playoffs. Grapevine is a much stronger squad.
