I almost get scared. I can't help it that even in TWBD we have to face people playing 5 spiders 90% of their games. We put some effort in playing 3-1-1 and 4-1 lineups. I know in this TWD I played 19 warbird games, 2 javelin games and only 14 spidergames. Most of the time I didn't even play TWBD because I would care less. As long as the mayority of our roster consist of people that just enjoy playing and would care less about the "respect of other players" factor I am happy.
And about sharking, I agree with Windreaper, the best games a team with me in shark played were when I and my partner had about 0 kills. If you know how to lock the enemy in and keep your own team safe you don't need to take any risks with mines. You ate some priest porridge

If fact, the statistical numbers that I have looked at reveal that often the number of shark team-kills goes up for the winning team sharks in lop-sided games because of this.
I used to ask before each game exact how many enemy kills the team wanted me to get. Any boob can keep their fingers off the mining keys, it is simply a question of how aggressive the team wants a shark to be. Sika, for example, is very aggressive and his terrier and team know how to play with that tendency. (Insert lag comments here.) I also think it is important to consider the team-kills/enemy terrier kills ratio a shark can achieve.
Funny thing, after all these years of asking exactly how many kills the team wanted me to have for each game, I have rarely heard anyone answer me. They say things like, ‘just play’. I guess that way it is much easier to flame/blame the shark after the game. lol

mining in lower can cause the opposing team great pains, i agree.
aggressive sharks and terriers can shift the tide of a close game (especially if they lag )

Sk8 was never owning in TWLB. They're a quality squad and will put up good opposition but they have no chance of owning the league this year. The only TWO TIME TWLJ All-Star and TWLB All-Star who never played a game.

Originally posted by PaulOakenfoldI know that's about the opposite with me. The best games I've played are when have plenty of kills (including TKs) and 2+ Teks. However, I know it's the opposite for a shark like Gabrahm or you, who feel more comfortable keeping their finger off the trigger button. That's okay too, and that's what makes sharking still exciting. Everyone that's considered a "respectful shark" this season (and last) still have their own style of sharking for the most part.
I kill on average 16 peeps a game (with 2-3tks, one sloppy game with 6). Paul averages at 12 (albeit with only 14 games under his belt), Epheremal at 15 and Stabwound at 21 (by the virtue of his mad bombing skills - he cram fer's at least twice each and every game - his mining is very sensible). I just can't see where I'm losing out by not mining blindly.
Also, take into account, that for each statistical tk, there are plenty of cases where you emp one or more of your teammates just for that chance to kill one measly nmy spid. I'll rather just tank and let my spids do the killing rather than risking the tks. In other words "most of the time you're better off not mining" meant simply, that there are often more risks involved in mining compared to potential gain. That's how I see it.
However, as someone mentioned above, "every shark worth mentioning" has his own distinct style. In other words, I'm wasn't trying to impose any norms or anything, just pointed out to Kings, that it might not be necessarily bad if his team shark didn't like to mine too much.Veni Vidi Visa - I came, I saw, I did some shopping.
Also did some game development. Check out this horror adventure game if you like point'n'clicks.

Originally posted by ClaushouseI bolded everything that was relevant to my argument and to this thread. You're making predictions about TWL games yet you've never played in a TWL
yourself, which was my sole point in the end of my previous point.
I would question even the wiliest of veterans for making such bold claims about other legitimate basing squads (" The people who didn't make the list have no potential to do anything good in TWLB"), but the fact you've never been in TWL and experienced it leaves me to wonder how you can make such assumptions, which is why I mentioned it.
And yes, as some have mentioned, stats are definitely not an overly reliable measure of how teams will do come TWL, but they're certainly an indicator. To imply that none of these squads will do well when in the past month or so they've all bested you (I honestly didn't check further back than 2 pages, and the further you go back the less accurate stats become anyways) overall.
Incuria's past TWL record isn't meant to be used as an indicator that you'll lose in similar fashion this year, but that a season is extremely unpredictable and even Shriek, in their half season, managed to defeat a basing squad such as yourself. You say Venom won't even come close to winning, but look at Syndicate (similar squad/roster), they beat you as well last season.
All these points I've made certainly aren't concrete evidence as to what will occur, but they are sufficient enough to question the validity of your over-the-top claims about those squads. The fact you reply to my critism with such zealous ferocity and exaggerated personal attacks on myself and my squad is just further proof that you're arrogant and immature, and not the best canditate to be making these kinds of predictions.
Just because we were friends on Melee doesn't mean that I'll ignore your staunch criticism of established squads that deserve better.Just like middle school, drawing pnus is frowned upon. ?go pictionary -SpookedOne
