Inc vs BC appeal - what was the point?

What was the point of me appealing this match?

I accused BC of playing an ineligible player (Lemar) and it was successful. BC gets punished, and Incuria gets what? BC cheated against us and we get the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that they got a warning and a two round ban for Lemar.

The point I'm making is this, why should I bother appealing anything if the only action that's going to be taken is to penalise the team that broke the rules but still allow them to profit from it.

If Incuria has trouble fielding 8 people some time, I'll just recruit someone from pub since I don't care if they get banned for two matches.

Whilst you're thinking about that, I'll voice my other point.

What more could I have done to stop BC from cheating?

I informed Lemar numerous times before the match (upto a few days before) that he may be ineligible and should seek the ruling of a TWL op before the match.

On match day, when I saw that Lemar was put in, I messaged the ref that I believed Lemar was ineligible, his response was to message Pure_Luck.

I message Pure_Luck, but of course the game wasn't put on hold so I had to cut short my conversation (aside from saying that lemar should be ineligible) and begin repping.

At no stage was anything done, so a game that should've been played as a 8v7 (since BC had no one else to play) becomes an illegal match that has it's score let stand.

The whole thing is bullshit, BasingCrew cheated and Incuria was punished. The very very least that should have occured, in my opinion, is for the game to be replayed in week 11. Allowing BC to profit from cheating by gaining points from the win is certainly no deterent for other squads to do the same.

Lemar was recruited 2 weeks ago, we knew dixy have to go to vacation but then bots didnt work. and week 5 got played again kinda stupid, wasn't our fault

Leroy is right. It was proven that Lemar COULDNT play therefore BasingCrew should've lost that game. Seriously staff, its not fair for Inc.

This is the same punishment I have seen before when someone played when being ineligible .

I did think Lemar was eligible, it seemed far away since he joined . But I figured he joined in week 4 after the match when I heard about the appeal.

We all know the rules, but come on.
We couldn't know this would happen, we recruited Lemar because we knew we might needed him this week (due to Dixy going on a holiday). and he would have been eligible if this would have been week 6 like it was supposed to be.
Why was the rule made in the first place? so they don't play right away in the same week. well he didn't.

I would understand the TWL Ops decision if someone would have noticed the whole thing with ineligability (sp?) only AFTER the game. But we knew it beforehand, even notified the referee before the game started but nothing is done.

Pisses me off too. Makes me think "are the rules just there to look cool and anyone breaking them gets a clap on the head and a don't-do-that-again-please".

Lemar joined after week 4 and according to rule rules 5.06 "If there are postponements, players which were not originally eligible for the round before it was postponed will still not be eligible for the postponed round", he was ineligible. And because BC didn't have sub, game should have been 8v7 instead 8v8.

And I believe 8v7 would have changed game a lot and according to rule 4.01 "If an unpredictable server crash, router failure, TWBot failure, or other event has a massive impact on a game in progress, the match will be cancelled and all current scores discarded. The game will then be replayed at a later time. (See Rules 4.02, 4.03 and 4.04)" there should have been replay because of the major impact on game.

Oh and let's look rule 8.08 "The game referee and the TWLBots will verify game time roster eligibility. All Squad members must be Squadjoined to the Squad they are participating with in TWL during league games and be selected for gameplay on the TWL website". This shows that the match ref wasn't really aware of the rules and situation even after Leroy told him BC has one ineligible player in.

lemar joined because we knew dixy cant come for week 6 (should should have been week 6) but because TWL bots got fucked up it was week 5 again, if this wouldnt happen you guys would gotten owned even harder because dixy would have been played

And we would have had Molgan terring, Jeansi+Dec sharking, Troup, Lemon, me, Inv and Shad (leroy) spidering etc. so it's pretty stupid to bring excuses where you are saying IF match would have been played week before because we both suffered from it.

That is a little odd. I would have thought the playing of an inelligible player would be a forfeit.

While I'm not sure that should be strict rule/punishments published, I think this is a case where it would be helpful. This is a case where there is no "but...", so the punishement should be set in writing and followed.

If this is the standard punishment for playing an inelligible player, what's the point? If the bots don't check and the host misses it, someone could recruit a few ringers for the twl final match or something.

Despite the "no appeal" rule, I'd say go talk to PL and see why he made this decision. Posting here certainly doesn't help.

Hum in my opinion i guess the game should be rescheduled for week 11 since both Inc and BC showed valid reasons, Rejected basers played with an inelligible player and so the victory should be given to Inc but as BC were mistaken by all the late mess in twl the best way to solve it would be to rematch it, i think it serves both sides!?

so basingcrew knew putting lemar in would be illegal and yet still played him? I'd call that cheating...
