TWL ops had no choice.. now if they change LB with LD for example it will be someone else whining. One game had to be at 1, other at 2:30 and another at 4. Its like that like it could have been otherwise!

Their is a choice underground. The choice to let squad captains schedule their own matches, just like every other game played in TWL this year. This is really fucking stupid. Our TWLD game vs -F- is at 10:00 AM for me. I might sleep through the damn thing.

honestly i'd rather try to get it changed than give up early brookus. anyway, i honestly have no problem with the times as they are, however i know a great number of people do. i think squad captains are quite capable of making compromises and deciding what time is best. they would be a better decision-making engine for such a process than a totally ignorant staff member/league op. ignorant in this case is no insult, but you can't expect any staffer or league op to know what's going on in any squad besides his own. giving the decision to the captains is way safer. theres a chance a league op could make it where none of 1 team's starters could show and all of the other team's starters could. it's not likely but the current system still allows that possiblity. that's fucked up.

Please change the time of the TWLD game to accomodate -FINAL- as much as possible (assuming it stays on the sunday, saturday sucks). If we happen to win, i dont want anyone giving any execuses. Lets try to make it the best game of the season and let the best team win.

And brookus, normally i agree with about 95% of the stuff you post, you normally sound like you know what you're talking about, but the posts you've made in this thread are just bullshit.

With that said, if you really hate your times so much, I suggest you give up your spot to another twl squad.

hmm.. lets see here:

last week, you guys whine about 2 LDs are played at the same time and 2 LBs played at the same time. That you guys WANT to watch all the games. Now you want to negotiate times which will lead to having 2 final games end up in the same time slot for sure.

Keep in mind negotiating schedule don't always work. Most of the time it will still be at the decision of a TWL op, which will even make it worse. Now instead of whining about "omg, you set schedule, now we wont have our top players on", it will be "OMG, you set the schedule in the other team's favourite, why didnt we get the time WE wanted?".

If your squad doesnt have the depth, then maybe your squad shouldnt be in the league. Keep in mind, TWL is a squad vs squad match, not a 5 player vs 5 player match. If you depend on your top 5 so much, might as well as change TWL to Trenchwars Group Match. Heh

The games are set as they are to make it possible for spectators to watch ALL of them. Thats why there is no such option as "decide" the times. Believe it or not, TWL is also made of the ppl that come and watch the games. TWL finals are the Trench Wars Zone Show number 1!

Meh. Find me a free x-terminal client that is easy to use on windows and I'll be in a better mood.

My point is that some squads would be happy to just be playing in the finals. I understand people want it perfect and such. No problem on that one. However, this stuff needs to come out before the season starts. That way everyone can discuss it until it eventually gets ignored. That's what these forums are for.

I don't think there is an option here that suits everyone though. I like the current way. If I was in the finals and half my starting line wasn't going to be able to make it, I'd yell at them and not the Ops.

If its the best squad vs squad match why isn't the whole roster playing at once? making it a 23vs30 game? Seriously, in any sport, you will put your TOP LINE on so you can WIN. You won't be putting on your SUBS, it's the same thing here. You want your top 5 or 8 people to show because you'll have the best chance at winning. People have things to do other than playing this game, this is a hobby, not a commitment. Players should have the oppertunity to choose the times they want to play, so it doesn't interfer with their work,family,friends, etc. Gl to -f- and sk8 in TWLB,TWLJ.

Although I usually agree with Brookus on stuff, I'm for letting the captains schedule. Having the games set up nice for spectators is cool and all, but teams have been putting in the effort all season to show up and compete in games (and maybe practice for them), and they deserve a shot to at least schedule it so their best players can show. Even if only 1 guy misses in twl it can have a huge effect. Losing our starting shark vs A-S because he had to leave for a frat event definitely hurt us some in the final rounds of basing last season. Same with twld and twlj. Having 5 really strong players all who you can depend 100% on or having 4 really strong players and 1 player that the opponent maybe can knock out early can be the difference between a close win and a blowout loss in finals.

I say give them a chance to schedule themselves, but you could set it so only one game per timeslot, so if they can't agree on a time by the time someone else takes it oh well, they have to take a random time. And if they complain, well just remind them it could have been completely randomized from the beginning like in the past. But at least they had a shot to schedule a time that would work for both of them. Just because the times happened to relatively work out for everyone last year so there weren't many complaints doesn't mean that the way it was done last year was right. Let them schedule, but enforce a 1 game per timeslot rule is my advice. Alright, carry on.

i agree wif sleepy, let them choose their times and if they do happen to be stacked up on the same time, you ops can change it.

since afterall, it'z THEIR final game and im pretty sure they all want to win. And for now, all your doing is pleasing the people to "watch" the game instead of pleasing the people who are actully gonan play and enjoy their final match of the season.. ~_~

The difference is that this weekend only has 3 games and 2 of the squads are in 2 of them so obvioulsy the games would be at different times. Last weekend we had 6 games with alot more teams then this weekend.
