  • Money system ?

I was looking at something somewhere else and it occured to me that it might be fun if there was a way to implement some kind of salary / transfer system for TWD (which affects TWL too, since TWL roster is made of the TWD roster).

What if a squad that enters TWD gets, for instance, 22.000 cash ? All new aliases / players that sign up for TWD are worth 1000. Performances during game (just like TWD rating system, or that TWLM system, or lets think of one) affects your transfer worth. You can sign up contracts for an amount of league and you can only get out of your contract when both parties agree. Ofcourse you can renew your contract etc just with soccer.

A squad that wins a match (also again some kind of rating system) gets some cash. If you win vs better squads you get more cash etc. If you lose you don't lose cash. There is a transferperiod each week (lets say in weekends) where you can buy and sell players. Scouting talents, making them better and let them play is a good way to make profit if you sell them later etc. Each player can ask for some salary and players that got a lot of cash might be able to buy some sort of awards, trophies or banners ? I dont know.
(to keep the players interested in getting better, earning more money etc) Payment of salary could be per month, so if you leave before the month you dont get paid and axing costs money if its before the end of contract.

Ofcourse not all holes are filled in this post, but if people are interested I wouldnt mind joining some kind of 'thinkforce' to work this idea out. It would kind of smash away our current system in some way, but personnaly I think it would actually do also something about the squadhopping, give a little more fun to the game outside leagues and has more benefits...

Oh and yeah, if you want to watch a TWL game you have to pay some cash to the stadium in which the Home Team is playing

Would probably be a good idea to experiment with during the offseason, but with the increased workload to get twl running i doubt it will happen anytime soon.

          I like the idea.

Would take some time to put it all together I'm sure.

If there is some kind of "thinkforce", count me in.

so in other words, a fancy draft league?

            Doomed to failure.

It'd take people's freedoms away to join what squad they want thus would be unpopular.

Grab a piece of paper. Place a dot in the middle of it. Draw a small circle around the dot, and leave the rest open. The dot represents your knowledge. It's what you know. It is the limit of your mind's capacity. The circle around the dot is everything that you don't know - but you know that it exists. And the rest of the paper is everything that you didn't even know that you'd never know - that exists or has the potential to exist.

Not true, you would have a transfer value. So captains have to pay money for you to get you, and cant just recruit 50 people to just recruit 50 people. (too much salary payments) If they really want you you can still join any squad you want to. Just dont arrange on a too long contract

Its not a league, its to replace the current TWD system, or to be more exact, change some things on it. So in theory, if you work this out correctly without flaws it cant be a failure since everyone wants to play TWD. I guess the only real question is can we come up with a plan that fills all holes and are there coders willing to make changes to the coding and in the end: do the majority of the TW population want to implement this system in TWD.

We need to get capitalistic about the entire thing, as this will benefit everyone involved. The league should charge squads an entry fee for participating. Squads should pay players. The league should charge people for watching the matches, league would have to share some of this 'gate' income with the squads. Income for the league could then also help pay the staff. Income could also be derived from selling promotional items and things like 'Programs' for each match. Squads could also glean income from corporate sponsorships (banners might have to changed to reflect this sponsorship, ships will fly around looking like NASCAR). Here would be the benefits:
                          - after paying to even be in the league, few would ever drop out.
                          - players get paid, no more 'get a life' comments
                          - league gets income to help pay for servers
                          - staff gets paid and can be held accountable for the jobs they are responsible for

But 'TW bucks' works too. It certainly will facilitate cybering better. 'Want me to cyber you? It's $25 TW bucks for 5 mins'.

                              nice idea but wouldn't work

ok the idea is ok but it just wouldn't work... Lets say that a squad like syndicate,-f-,dice,ect. would dissolve on an offseason then they would want to come back again before twl begins what would happen. They would get the 22 000 cash and then they would see that they could onely get like 3 of the original guys on the squad so one(or more) would have to alias first that they get a 4 man crew to start winning. Then they would have to win alot of games to get enough cash for them to get the roster back to the old one. It would be too annoying to do this and it would make ppl alias more so that they could get into a squad that doesn't have the money to buy theyr real name. This system would also cut off new squads from forming if they had players of great value because they would have a roster of 4-5 ppl for a long time.

To sum this up: stick to the old way

p.s sry for the typos and bad english

everyone agree that once the staffers catch someone cheating they wont get to play, instead of evading the ban and rejoining that squad on an alias, then cheating again.
